It's time to give him a shot, if he doesn't step up then at least Benning/Willie know that maybe he'll end up being more of a low end 2nd liner or high end 3rd liner. This is his season to take another step, crucial season for him.

How do you think he'll perform.

I think this is a crucial season for a great many players.

He was hardly the reason the team didn't do well last year.

Huge season for the Sedins. If they don't start producing, people will want their heads on a pike.

I thought he was our most consistent player in 2014
- bezz44

Booth was our most consistent player, it was just the wrong kind of consistency.

Oh I agree. But this idea of staying competitive during the re-build is going to create line combinations that utilize our experienced NHL players.

I like that. The kids can ask the vets questions while sitting on the bench.

I wish FA would stick to building crappy buildings and not building crappy hockey teams.

Important questions like where is the best place to eat a pre-game meal in Columbus?

Never said he was. Just stating that if Kassian (at this juncture of his career) is your NHL team's most consistent player then your team will have issues. Which it did.

The dominant teams in the west have two good lines. If this team's going to run with the big boys then they better get those top two lines competitive.

Who the (frank) knows how anyone will perform? Outside of maybe Higgins, Hamhuis, Richardson, Bieksa, and Tanev, this team is nothing but question marks. Their season could swing anywhere from incredibly painful to surprisingly good. I'm not sure if there's another team in the league that is as uncertain.

If Kesler were here they could ask him where to find the best hookers in Winnipeg.

At Rogers arena,
It started at six,
They'd sharpened their skates,
and taped up their sticks
The cheese curds were bubbling,
the DJ was new
the arena was empty,
well, except for a few.
the first puck was dropped,
And the sharks came on hot
when the shots on goal
tallied, it seems we're outshot
Marleau had good instincts,
and Dorsett got caught,
But Subban f*cking nailed it,
a slapshot from the slot!
Vey came in handy,
and Hunter showed well,
The Sedins might have been there,
but no one could tell,
Meanwhile In Stockton,
they fought, but they fell,
But Sestito stepped up, and he wailed on John Scott!

Yeah. That's why I think it's one way or the other when it comes to building a winner. Try and stay competitive and wallow in mediocrity or take a hit for a few years and pocket those high draft picks.

I got a bad feeling they'll keep Horvat on the big club but play him sparingly. I'm not sure that does anything for his development.

Exactly

We will see just how much of a disaster Torts was, he either destroyed this team last year or exposed it.

Yes. Lets do a few more years of sucking to build up talent. And for the existing young talent that might have to bare a few years of suckage I would just keep showing them one picture:

Perseverance is a good quality for star players and a winning team.
