I am hoping he is more Ryan McDonaugh type. I think Bob McKenzie gave him that comparrison - J35Bacher
Did he? Damn, I thought I was original. Oh well. |

I know Craig Button compared Sanheim to McDonaugh right after he was drafted. McKenzie may have also made that comparison. - mcefalu
That could be a steal if he plays to that potential whoever made the comment. |

Heimers
Heimsey - Streit2ThePoint
Heimers is a good one. Much more interesting than the typical NHL nicknames -
Kaner, Tazer, Keither, Seabs, Bicks, Hoss. The Blackhawks nicknames in general are all pretty lame. |

Agreed. I think he can certainly do it, too. |

If he goes back & scores like he was before he will be signed soon enough - Jsaquella
Yeah. He's definitely been impressive. I don't think it will take the team too long to make that decision. |

With an ace season in Calgary and 15-20lbs, I could see him here as soon as 2015. |

Per the beat guys, Orange Jesus is skating today. - Jsaquella
This post wins the Internet for Sept. 25, 2014 -- because ultimately, as much as I believe in many players on the roster, he has got to be on the effing ice for 20-ish minutes a night.
That's just the way it is

That is what I was thinking. His skating and instincts are NHL. He just needs to add more muscle and refine some of his game. Could ease him in next year as a 3rd pairing guy and then go from there. |

Guys like Giordano and Rafalski headed overseas when nobody thought they were worth a damn... they came back and killed it. If Gus keeps playing well over there, and some roster spots end up opening up here next summer, it's plausible that he could come back and be terrific. - Tomahawk
Exactly.
Two words: Brian Rafalski.
Just because a guy isn't on an NHL roster doesn't mean he can't play or can't improve enough to play in the league

I love the nicknames that have nothing to do w/ names and have a story behind them... like Noodles, Moose, Toe, Chicken Parm, Mule, Boom Boom, Punch, Knuckles, etc. The only name-based nick that was ever any good was Cujo. |

I wouldn't rush him. This is only his age-18 season. Probably has two more years in Calgary if they're patient. |
