People tend to lump all enforcers into the same group. Stortini and Rosehill are a great example. If I were Hextall and I had to choose between Stortini and Rosehill, I would be taking Rosehill all day. Rosehill can manage a regular 4th line shift. - jak521
And now Hextall's brilliance is revealed. By giving us all a taste of Stortini we back off Rosehill!
In reality, he's bound for the AHL which is fine by me. |

I agree. - MJL
Rosehill is a " smart" goon. He can skate, and he is a great fighter who picks his spots very well. There was a few games last year when this team was down and he went out and pounded someone to give his team some life! When he fights... He wins. That can motivate a team very easily |

He has 15 points in his last 146 games. Not exactly a great player.
EDIT: That is in the AHL btw. - jak521
Never said he was great, only that he's more skilled than your average goon. He's a lot closer to a BJ Crombeen (who can play a reg shift and even PK) than he is to a John Scott.
Crombeen: 0.19 points per game (NHL)
Stortini: 0.16
Rosehill: 0.07
Scott: 0.03
With that said, I hope they send him down ASAP. |

With the 4 straight games coming up after this, we're going to get some crazy lineups. |

you said he is an overall effective player. if that was the case woudllt at least one team have room for him in their top 6? or owuldnt they take a flyers on him for a 7th rd pick? - rinaldo
Why would the Flyers trade his rights for a 7th? He's not dead, he wants to play. If he goes over to the KHL and plays well, he could be a better asset.
There's a lot of smaller, effective guys that have to scuffle for jobs. Again, Rafael Diaz is a prime example. Solid effective third pair guy, went unsigned and is on a PTO.
Derek Engelland who is, at best a 6th defenseman, but a great fighter, gets almost $3mm a year. |

That'd be my third line to start the season. Raffl and Akeson can skate and move the puck, and Raffl has shown he's a competent two way player. |

Me too, though it looks like Raffl will get the lions share of being the responsible one....

Giroux is apparently WAAAAY ahead of schedule. He is stretching on the ice. He won't be in lineup tonight, but may play soon |

The Penguins will be better this year, if only, because they got rid of Deryk Engelland and don't have to give that piece of poop a regular blue line shift. |

That's possible, but Flyers still own rights to Gus if he were to play in the NHL, meaning a trade would have to be made. He's technically still an RFA.
Rather than wait for a trade to be made, Gus opted to sign overseas with the guarantee that he would get to play top minutes somewhere. |

Sounds like good news.. Wondering.. were the team docs that far off or is he maybe pushing it? Guess with soft tissue injuries, you never know. |

I don't think they'd rush him in the preseason. He might want to rush himself though...I would hope the trainers and coaches wouldn't allow that though. IIRC, Brayden Schenn took a nasty hit to the head last year and he told the training staff he was fine and they didn't even run a baseline test. Not a concussion scenario but let's hope that kind of recklessness is avoided. |

Agreed, on both accounts.
I'm going to the Flyers-NYR game next Tuesday and Bellemare is a player I'm looking forward to watching.
/bookmarks this comment for future reference if he bombs out of the league
Also, what gives with Laughton on the wing? |
