Though I was expecting the Canucks to put Jacob Markstrom on waivers eventually, I didn't think it would happen so soon.

Still, I think he'll clear. And no, he wouldn't have to clear again to be recalled. Re-entry waivers were abolished in the latest CBA.

Let me know what you think about that in the poll in today's new blog:

doesnt markstrom have to clear waivers again upon re-entry? If he clears now which is his best chance, doesnt he have to clear again if he gets called up? I am not sure...just asking?

I doubt they bring him back up ever. If there is an injury to either Miller or Lack i'm guessing they bring up eriksson/Cannata who can go up and down without waivers. I think Markstrom will be in the minors with the hope that he will dominate and hopefully at some point the Canucks will be able to deal him and get at least something back.

So not every team has the Luxury of a JOhn Freguson jr that offers Jeff Fingers a 4.1 mil contract. We can only hope that one day our GMs hit the success rate of the Leafs.

That was Fletcher, but you know, whatever

I am not sure but I. Think he needs to clear waivers on the way down and up.

I think that changed, they only need to clear going down now. I believe re-entry waivers no longer exists.

Markstrom being sent down just made an open roster spot for Bo. Trade Hansen now and Shink has a spot too.

We knew Markstrom would probably be moved , Lack has looked great.Great 1-2 in nets. Lack will be the man in 3 years as Demko gets ready to turn pro.

If Canucks can pick up a Boychuck ,Leddy or Byfuglien via a trade, then the back end will look pretty damn good also

I thought Eriksson looked pretty good in the games he played. That makes the Canucks even deeper at that position.
