JG isn't playing tonight. But Bollig is. He's really the only guy whom I can think of targeting Corrado. And I have to assume Corrado is playing. I can only name 3 Canucks defencemen who haven't been ruled out of this game, and he's one of them. - TheBold
kanzig is the only player on the flames squad tonight that would be going for a goon roll. Otherwise I don't see him seeing the NHL any time soon.
Ferland/Bollig although tough will be busy competing for more of an energy player role. |

I for one hope this doesn't happen again, I actually want to see him on the opening night roster this year - bezz44
I hope kassian does less of that this year. Play more of the power forward role and less of a loose canon |

The goalie controversy only existed because the backup (schneids) out-played the starter (Lou).
I like Lack, but I don't see him being at Schneider's level quite yet. - Canuckleafer
it is schnieds first year as a full on starter. He's had all-star backups his whole career, he doesn't have that luxury any more. |

The point is, for me anyways, is Lu was a very good goaltender and still is, they should have moved Schneider when his value was high - we probably would've gotten more for him the previous year and still had Lack to fill his shoes.

Brodeur wasn't exactly an all-star backup last season. Hence why he's still looking for a job.

He didn't have the benefit of hindsight bruh. The only reason they had a controversy in the first place was cause Luongo lost the confidence of his coach. Personally, I blame Luongo. |

only 2 less wins then cory.
And I think you're underestimating the pressure of knowing your back up is completely capable to hold his own and the world isn't on your shoulders.
Just ask Lack, I'm sure he knows. |

I agree - I'm just saying in response to the other comment that the likelihood of the controversy developing with a Schneider/Lack combo. |

And had a sub .900 GAA. Wins are one thing but his stats were poor even for a backup.

He, Gillis, needed foresight not hindsight. He was afraid to move Schneider, no balls, poor decision...end of story. For me anyways. Gillis signs a guy to a 12 year deal then won't move a kid everyone is drooling over???
Good GM's will replenish when the opportunity presents itself is all I'm saying. |

Lack played only 4 less games then schneids last year. So really schnieds has only proven as much as lack on how he can hold a full season to himself and play 60 games (i'm talking carrying a team, not stats during an easier game play schedule). Its a big step up. |

if we traded luongo and kept Cory, Lack would have been his backup, and there would have been a goalie controversy last year anyways and we probably would have traded Cory anyways - GloveHandStrong
I think Lack is as good as gone. |

If that is true then Demko has 3 years to become a full time NHL starter. |

I don't like the idea of assuming demko will be the real thing and tossing away lack. Look at Markstrom. Once the best goalie prospect in the world and now he can't even crack an nhl roster. If anyone gos between lack and mark it's mark. |

yup
Lack really hasn't shown any indication that he should be given up on. he got a crappy situation last year, and handled it pretty well |

Goalie market sucks. If he's dealt, many won't like the return. |

He hasn't completely earns a full time job yet (Lack), that's how it works with goaltenders, look at Lehner in Ottawa. Rarely does a young goaltender get the number one spot without a bit of a apprenticeship, 41 games doesn't quite cut it IMO. |

I agree, but he has more trade value than markstrom does.
I know nothing of the moves Benning will make but I just have a feeing he's a goner. |

Very good potential, packaging him with say a Hansen would bring a better return...maybe? |

The only option is to send Markstrom down and he will be picked up on waiver.
Edit: other option. |
