One other item, have any of you noticed that even though you selected your keepers and want to discard several players, those players still show up as being on your team when you do a pre-draft review of what players are an are not available.

For instance, I have Helm - I didn't check the 'keeper' box but want to drop him. But I see it says that he still belongs to me. Any of you with the same problem? or is this going to be rectified before the draft.

Sorry to inundate you with questions, but I just want to ensure we don't have any last minute problems. Danke moocho

- Zogg

I think you have the non-keepers until the new season is started by the commish. Also thanks for the tip that Helm will be available

Went to take a peek at TSN and didn't recognize the home page when it opened. When did they change their format?

Torts was awful ...I expect bounce back years from the twins burrows and Hansen
- Redmile247

I think Hank will be ok

Burrows will be better but not a 30 goal scorer, maybe 17- 22

I know it was only one pre-season game and against non-NHL players but boy were they cycling the puck well against the Sharks. They should of both had multiple assists that game but Vrbata couldn't pull the trigger fast enough.

Benning is handcuffed, cause he either has to trade him or send him down. If you send him down and he plays well, he'll get picked up on the way back up.

They might have to trade Lack; that would be dumb though. I hope they wait till some variables change, and they take advantage of the situation.

- Gullzy

You don't have to clear waivers on the way up anymore, only when you're sent down. But I think that there's a pretty good chance that someone would claim Markstrom. It's no risk and potentially a pretty good reward.

I'd spike his dinner with LSD.
Then he would be a fun guest.

Who is going to pick up a risky goalie, send him down on waivers.
- VANTEL

I think that any team with questions in net or a shaky backup would in a second. Why not? The only thing they would be risking is cap space. Marksrom might be a bust, but he might also be pretty great. It's not often that you can pick up a player with potential without giving up a prospect, roster player or draft pick.

Not a popular opinion on here but I want to see Kassian start to excel in a top 6 role before I assume a break out year ...he took steps last year but his best games were in 3rd line roles against weaker opposition...not sayin he won't score 20 as a top 6 but I'd just hope he can stick in a top 6 role first

Khabby Brodeur Briz still available and cheap. Why go to a 1.2 mil very unproven goalie?

Walking down memory lane with leaf fans. Going over the Sedin trade.

Chicago's 3rd overall pick to Vancouver for Bryan McCabe and 1st round pick in 2000. Canucks already held the 2nd overall pick.

Patrik Stefan went 1st.
Pavel Brendl went 4th.

Chicago either picked Mikhail Yakubov or Pavel Vorobiev in that 2000 draft. Either way they both combined a total of 97 NHL games.

That trade that Burkie pulled off should be considered one of the best in canuck history.
