Not much interest in Ryan for me. Too one dimensional, and lack the elements to his game that I think the Flyers should be looking for if they're going to get involved in a big money deal. I'd want a player who is just as effective without the puck, as with it. That you can put on the ice at the end of the game with a one goal lead, just as you can if you're down a goal. That's not Ryan in my opinion.

I just don't get the too one-dimensional angle. There is not a single flyer forward that had 50 takeaways and a plus 7 in 70 games last season... Yet the flyers were a better team than Ottawa. Ryan had over 100 hits so its not that he doesn't play physical either. He's a pretty balanced player IMO.

Edit - and statistically he's a solid even strength scorer/player which we NEED.
