Thick crust or thin crust? - PhillySportsGuy
It is crucial that you order thin crust, this technique is not compatible with the thick crust model |

INJURY UPDATE: #Flyers GM Ron Hextall says Sean Couturier has an upper-body injury & Ray Emery has a lower-body injury. Both are day-to-day
EDIT - I should just automatically put "This is late" after all of my posts |

Hextall has made a few short term moves that I don't necessarily agree with. However, the long term ideas he has spoken about and followed thus far have me excited and happy with him.
Hextall's initial draft was great, on paper. There was no Garrett Klotz or Tyrell Goulbourne taken in round three, or Derek Mathers taken late instead of a skilled player.
Hextall avoided long term commitments in free agency and lessened the burden of one long contract by trading Hartnell for Umberger and tried like Hell to get rid of another - Jsaquella
I'll admit in the one game Umberger played, I really liked what I saw. Slick hands, the ability to watch his point man for possible block shots, he was more feisty then I remember in terms of pushing opposing players. Nice skating ability. I liked Umberger a lot his first go as a Flyer and I felt he got overshadowed by Richards and Carter during each of their rookie seasons but overall, he looks better to me then before. He didn't really have a finish on him his final season here until the playoffs.
I don't think all the credit can be handed to Hextall though. Some of these draft pick are still from Holmgren.
I just don't think Hextall will be as perfect a GM as some might think because of some of these short term signings. |

Couts looked like he had a sore wrist after Orr hit him in Toronto.
No idea about what happened to Emery in his 30 minutes against Washington. |

If we had Rosehill dressed for that Toronto game, wouldn't have happened.
Or something. |

I thought Rinaldo played pretty well last night. The lack of intensity in the game probably helped keep him under control. |

I'm not expecting perfect, I'm expecting a long term plan that doesn't change from year to year or because a guy like Vinny gets bought out.
Holmgren did an overall good job as GM, but was far too willing to change course rather than let the team grow together. Part of that was Pronger's injury, but he had traded Richards & Carter long before Pronger got hurt. |
