MARKSTROM ON WAIVERS!!!!
ahahahahahah. this is too hilarious. nucks really are the worst managed team in the league, no concept of asset management. it's no wonder they have never won a cup and are beginning to rebuild to continue the drought.
i would love to hear all the nucks experts (ahem vantel) who were trash talking us, saying we don't know anything about hockey and calling us trolls. were they not saying the nucks have two elite goalies? then they trade an elite goalie for a draft pick who still has yet to play an nhl game, and then they trade their other elite goalie for a couple prospects, and waive the best one in that deal today. - sensnucksnocups
so the nucks end up with just Shawn Mathias, and had to eat contract to get him?
Mike Gillis really misplayed his hand. He asked for the moon for Luongo, and had to settle for scraps

To Ottawa : Boychuck and Kelly
$6.3M
To Boston : Smith, Weircoch,
$3.8M
two rather large salaries for two small ones...... Smith can replace Kelly at centre and Weircoch can grow into a 3/4 defenseman with time |

DEAL !!!! seriously if Vinny works hard and stays injury free; he can be a difference maker. I think he has 2-3 really good (not great) years left. It's like he went to sh1t after being traded fromTampa .
Side note.... Do you think he's related to that guy Vittario from top chef Canada ? (I can't figure outhow to post image) - marklaprise
Tampa bought viny out not traded him... And no team will ever ever ever ever trade for clarkson. He has to be top 3 worst contracts in history.
Never ever |

actually the canucks also retained some of luongo's salary and are on the hook for cap recapture penalties if he retires early if i am not mistaken? all this for shawn matthias? i don't understand how nucks fans make fun of oilers, flames etc? |

Gillis (frank)ed that team up pretty bad, for sure, not sure if many Nucks fans would disagree.
Hey did you know that the guy responsable for that mess is no longer with the Canucks? They have new management. |

Why not just offer up a 4th rounder to Boston for Kelly?
Ottawa might have a lottery pick. |

I'm not making any deals for Ottawa, but Kelly would be a good depth Center on Edmonton for a year or 2 IMO. |

the key in the luongo trade was moving his contract. you're making this a whole lot bigger than it is there bud. - Isles_since_6
He lives for that. He is too stupid to see Canucks moved a bad contract instead has sat around his keyboard for 3 years now , waiting for that moment that he can say Aha. |

Are we talking about the same Kelly? You'd be lucky to get a Claude Julien blowup doll and a conditional 7th. |

That's kind of what I was thinking. If the Bruins cap situation is as dire as I have heard, how do they hold any cards when it comes to shedding salary? If I'm the Oilers, I just wait for the waiver wire. |

Bruins cap is ok, we will stick as is and sign krug and smith when season starts. Just trying to help the oilers for the need of a centre when we have so many |

The rumors of Boychuk being traded are ridiculous ... he is not being traded. Sure he's a UFA but the Bruins will deal with that next June. Seidenberg & McQuaid are both coming back from major surgeries ... & you think they'll trade Boychuk because what could possibly go wrong. You don't trade your #3 dman to free up space to sign your #6 (Krug) dman, especially when your #2 & #5 dmen are coming back from MAJOR surgeries ... I mean, that's beyond stooopid.
Also, the Bruins have 9 dmen including Krug ... they'll keep 7 so 2 are gone. Miller's hit is the cheapest ($800k for 2 years, he stays). Warsofky is a Krug-clone (or close enough). That makes Krug expendable AND Bartkowski will be packaged too (Barts is UFA in June & he'd be claimed on waivers ... trade him or lose him via waivers). Trotman is bigger, younger & cheaper than Barts ... Bartkowski is gone.
Chara/Hamilton, Seidenberg/Boychuk, McQuaid/Miller ... #7 is Warsofky or Trotman.
Kelly or Loui plus Bartkowski will free cap space to sign Smith & easily get a 3rd line winger to play with Carl. Prospects/picks for Krug. Play hockey. |

Can't use LTIR until day 1 of the season but the Bruins need to be cap-compliant at the end of camp. One possibility is to send Hamilton to Providence on the last day of camp that reduces the cap & then claim Savard's LTIR on day 1 while recalling Hamilton. Hamilton is the only dman still exempt from waivers. |
