That's true.
It was really a battle of two titans in Stralman and Muzzin |

Staal and Doughty were really drags on their possession numbers. Stralman and Muzzin literally carried them on their backs. |

I can say with total confidence that after 3 preseason games, Bennett's career will be > Reinhart's. Way to draft a bust as your "cornerstone". Don't (frank) up your other 2 top 5 picks next summer like you did this one. - rangerdanger94

Bennett was always pegged as the boom or bust pick, so there is 50% chance that he could very well be a top line player.
But a guy with Reinhart's playmaking and smarts will make for a good top 6 forward and i would definitely take that especially if you assured me two top 5 picks next year. - Sabresfan-365
Reinhart seems to be the guy that will be quietly consistent. |

Since he's a setup man, he's the type of player that will need chemistry with consistent linemates. |

Agreed. Plus he is a very smart hockey player. Once he adjusts to the speed of the game and gets comfortable he will be fine. |

Calgary was not as bad as their record showed them. Had a horrible start and played in a very tough conference with lots of power house teams. Inspite of that they finished the season on a huge winning streak, even when power house western teams were jostling for playoff positions. Bennett would probably be on par with reinhart on buffalos roster. It's just too early to judge but that ranger fan is still really butthurt that buffalo fans laugh at Garth snows enormous blunders as a gm....he's gotta stand by his man. How sweet |

If you claim a guy he is out on the nhl roster. That would mean 3 goalies and all of them would have to clear and when Hackett is healthy that would make 4. A very crowded crease - Stripes77
Can we play all four at once? Might be the only way we get 2 points,,4 goalies..2 defensemen. |

So, I wanted Bennett...but am fine with Reinhart...and you are right..HE isn't going to set the world on fire...but put him with two finishers that can also sit the puck out (I know, who isn't looking for those guys) and he might put up 80 assist and 20 goals on the 2nd line. especially if they get a couple of 1st liners in the 2015 draft to take away the other teams checking line. I think he is a perfect 2C.
Now in 2015, 8'm tending to lean towards Eichel. I want my 1C to breathe fire and brimstone.... Taking the team on his shoulders and going 120 mph! Reinhart as the 2C is a PERFECT complimentary player. Heady to tear the other teams 2nd line apart! |

ya I actually might wan't Eichel more (he might even make it past McDavid for consensus #1), but I want at least 1 of the two |

So, I think the media will drive McDavid to #1 in the rankings if they are close in performance. Not sure what the scouts will actually place them, but the early hype is with McDavid. I would love for the Sabres to finish last and if the lose the lottery (and you know they will 'cause the NHL draft is fixed) they will have to "settle" for Eichel. ...that would be fine.
Now we just need the Islanders to pull a colassel failure, al a Toronto Bay Laffs; so we get a high pick from them as well!! Can we hope for the Blues to nose dive as well? |

I think it's safe to assume the Isles pick will be at least top 6 |

I think that will be a non factor with them. Eichel could put up big numbers in the NCAA but it seems like more often than not scouts will place more value in a players numbers in the juniors than in europe or NCAA. It seems to be the right call most of the times however there are exceptions (last big one i can think of is Jordan Staal vs Jonathan Toews).
And to be honest, I'm not entirely sold on Eichel either. I think he'll be very good but not nearly good enough that people will say "damn, if only they had taken Eichel over McDavid". |

It's possible, but you can never count out a team that has a guy like John Tavares. They've got real talent in that lineup and made serious improvements, can't really see them being anywhere near the bottom line unless something goes crazy wrong. |
