Surprising that one of the lower teams didn't take a chance on him. His rep around the league must be at an all-time low.

His salary is 1.4 million. Budget teams wouldn't be able to take the risk.

Maybe but you get my point that going from "best goalie not in the NHL" to clearing waivers in just a few short years speaks volumes of how his stock has fallen.

Just watched the highlights, Sedins working a bit of their magic last night. They look good when they hold onto the puck.

Who was Calgarys to Dman and Top line?

Who the hell is going to take him now? he was just free on the market. Nobody is going to give up and asset when they just had a free shot at him.

Oh I know, but that's what they've play like against other NHL teams for years...all about confidence. No more straight lines!

Most teams had their roster set and they would have had to put them on their roster. Now if an injury occurs and they need a goalie they can come to the Canucks and make a trade without him needing to clear waivers.

It would not be a big trade. Also if he plays lights out in the AHL it will spark interest

Agreed. I was really hoping that he'd get a lot of time with Rollie Melanson this offseason but as he's now Utica bound, he might have to put it all together himself.

Let him "develop" in the AHL, he had some serious holes in his game from what I saw last year. He's only 24! Let him get some proper coaching.

Rollie can and will travel to Utica to coach him.

For sure, but he'll get proper coaching, work on what he's taught, then re-evaluate.
