I don't think it's an either/or scenario really - especially since Bo's a centre. If both keep up their solid play, there is a solid chance that both make the team and as a result create some tough decisions for the club. Someone will have to be moved.

Vey might be destined for Utica at this point unless he plays exceptionally well.

He wont clear waivers, he is here to stay.

There is going to have to be a trade to move a forward or Bo and Hunter are headed to the CHL and Utica.

iffy is not the word we want to use in the classified ad. Maybe unknown, potential #1 or wildcard... former highly touted prospect turned reclamation project, now just a project looking for an opportunity because he hasn't really had one in a little while... might never get anything for him.

How about "needs paint"

I would have both on the main roster. I am tired of seeing a no punch offence for the last two years.

So which vet gets the boot? Burrows? Burrows seems like a deadline type of deal trade really - depending on how he does during the season.

My bad, didn't realize that he'd need to clear waivers.

I'd rather move Hansen, Burrows can play both wings and like you said Burrows would be better moved at the TDL to a contender.

I'd personally move Matthias. You trade Hansen and this forward group gets even slower.

People will lose their mind though knowing Luongo got traded for nothing.

2nd line is a massive question mark, but other than that, solid lineup. I really like that 4th line

We have 10 games to figure out who to move. Sestito plus someone.

both Mathias and Richardson are very replaceable. I'd rather have Horvat over both of them. He's just as good as either one of them now and had far more upside.

would you take a shot on horvat, who might play a cleaner game by screwing up less, but less flashy and not as many points.

or go with shink, more flash and potential points. But could be out of position more often?

with an older responsible D corps, Shink might have a strong chance. Wake people up after listening to short house drawl on and the sedins passing to each other for a few cycles

We need scoring from young players. Last we had we traded for a player that needed years to be a contributor ... Horvat can wait. We have centers anyways.

From his wiki page.

"It was believed that Markström would become the full-time starter for the Panthers at the beginning of the 2013–2014 season, as Theodore was not retained and Markström signed a 2 year contract. However, the Panthers would sign Tim Thomas to a one-year contract, and Markstrom was sent down to the AHL again."

stats from 2013/14 with Florida 12gp 1w, 6l, 3otl 3.52gaa .874 sv%
AHL Rampage 29gp, 12w, 11l, 3otl, 2.56 .918

I am not sure if he looked shaky in his games or was letting in soft goals but he didn't show well with the Panthers but looked okay in the AHL.

The guy just needs a good chance with a good defence to see if he can put it together.

Sestito has no value, I hope he's waived or at best kept as a 13th forward for games against the Flames and such.

Both Gillis players, Benning owes them nothing.

Richardson is better defensively, a better skater, better fit for WD's system as a 4th liner. I'd keep him over Matthias if I had to pick.

Matthias also has Weise syndrome, judging from his comments when he first got here, he didn't think he belonged in a 3rd/4th line role so I'm not sure if we'll get a bottom 6 guy who's gonna hustle his ass off and play hard in all 3 zones. Richardson's been playing that role for years.

I'd like to see what Matthias has to offer but If given the choice, I'd keep Richardson.

He had a pretty solid season last year and I've liked what I've seen so far this season. Won 55% of faceoffs last season, I think he's a lock for the #4 spot.

I think if Horvat makes the team, it's to be penciled in on the #3 line.

this

everyone loves the shiny new kids. they bring hope.
but if you're not forced into it, don't move proven nhl'ers for unproven kids. (who aren't named mackinnon or drouin etc)

horvat has absolutely not proven hes better than Matthias at this point.

not sure why many of you aren't happy with him.. big, goes to the net with power, can skate, play multiple roles etc.
great option for the 3rd line. a fantastic one on the 4th

I'd much rather see Horvat get another year in the OHL myself and keep the centers.

Sestito Mathias Richardson Hansen are fringe players. When someone better comes along they get bumped.

Not to mention he's to soft for someone his size.
