I see the Casucks challenging for a playoff spot. Torts really fuked that team culture up last year! Look for Willie to change the whole team atmosphere.

- K-man25

I definetly think they'll at least improve from last year

No not remotely close
I don't think most Canuck fans think they are going to be but this whole change is coming theory they have is a bit premature ...until any of these kids they have stick with the team I just don't see it ....I guess I've just seen too many players in the past on different teams excel in a few preseason games but disappear in the reg season to be impressed by it

- Redmile247

It's easy to excited about young players even though only a small percentage turn into NHL regulars. But yeah you're right.

One thing the Flames DO have, is the goalie with the best mask in the league. Hiller always, always has some good art on his bucket.
Whats up with that neon green liner?

- roland_hazard

I dunno, I Ortio's mask is pretty deadly.

The Oil missed the playoffs by a whopping 24 points and had the most goals against in the league. Rumours of stagnation and discontent within the dressing room seem to be popping up everywhere. The west has only gotten better this off season.

Sure man, they'll definitely battle for 8th..

To think if they'd just blown one more game they'd have drafted Reinhart or Ekblad..

The oilers were forced to pick Drasaitl. Very good player but Bennet was ranked higher than everyone.

Im still a little iffy about the flames later picks. I guess that is why they said it wasn't a deep draft,

They have improved with both personnel and coaching, and this year they don't have to deal with the Dubnyk factor. I think it all depends on how the new D they brought in can play.

I'm iffy about them as well, but happy we took a highly rated goalie so next year we don't have to worry about drafting a goalie in a draft full of skilled players.

He still needs a year in junior to figure out how to play with an edge without going too far, like he did in Penticton. Not to mention his break out passing.

Setoguchi will be on waivers at the start of the season. He sucked last night. Worst thing I saw from him, was after a messed up scoring play, he stopped, looked up in frustration and stood there while the play went the other way (you wouldn't have seen it unless you were at the game tracking the players). Then he skated to the bench to change.

That won't fly with Hartley.

The oilers didn't want Reinhart, they wanted draisaitl.

Sorry to go a little off topic here but I noticed something while I was looking at the Flames draft history. Don't get me wrong there were some real stinker years but 2011 was an amazing draft for the Flames.

1st 13th Baertschi
2nd 45th Granlund
2nd 57th Wotherspoon
4th 104th Gaudreau
6th 164th Brossoit

All these players have potential to be NHLers in my opinion. Thats pretty good to have all 5 picks in that year have the potential to play in the NHL. Looking at the Draft history on this team it looks like to me 2009 to the present has had pretty good success on draft day.

people can diss feaster all they want but they can't deny he made some very good draft picks... ignoring the whole janko situation but until we actually see him play in the nhl we won't knows... if janko turns out to be a decent nhl, hell is he even turns into a servicable 4th liner in the nhl feaster will never let anyone forget how much they chirped him
