i love christmas and i always have. my mother worked hard to make sure christmas eve was my favorite day of the year and it still is. but then you get older and christmas is still your favorite but you do a lot more running around and it's a lot more work but then you see something like this and you remember what it's really all about. and why my mom worked so hard at it and why we work so hard at it now.

That is exactly what I saw in that facial expression. And its kind of strange but libby looks a lot like my oldest when she was around that age.

I have always enjoyed buying gifts for my family. The joke was I always did my shopping late but the truth is I spend a lot of time thinking about what to get for everybody.

Christmas has become much more enjoyable the last couple of years since some of us cousins now spend Christmas EVe night together again. It was hard to do for years with with in-laws and such. But now that a lot have passed on we get to come back together again and share the day like we did as kids.

EDIT: There was one point last night while playing a game we all were laughing so hard there were tears and people grabbing their sides from laughing.

not gonna lie, i'm having a great one.

and about to leave to go to another party with a million pounds of food and my boy junior making special drinks for the occasion (junior is a bartender at a fancy place here in south jersey so they're always incredible). last year was espresso martinis and blood orange vodka drinks.
