Let's face it, even in Rinaldo's "good" season, all he really did any better than the season before was to draw more penalties than he did in his other seasons. He's still a non entity offensively, he's not good defensively, he's not a good possession player, because he lacks skill with the puck, he's prone to running around and taking dumb penalties and he's got a rep with the refs, so he gets called for stuff other guys get away with.

Also super easy to muscle off the puck as he's really a small guy.

He has been cut along with many others in tonight's lineup. In preseason teams can dress minor leaguers who have already been cut in order to fill out lineups. Only way to manage the jam-packed game schedules.
