The playcalling has been fine. It's been all about execution today. Until that blown coverage touchdown, there had been none of it in the 2nd half. - buffalofan19
agreed. there was only a few plays where i said wtf. like at the end of the first half when we had no time outs and he dumps it off to fred jackson who has two people right in front of him. i hate to say it but ej is the only reason this team isnt 4-0 |

It has? They went pass first all game against a team that can't stop the run......and couldn't stop the run today.
And Keith Rivers should be cut tomorrow |

Receivers were open. Plays were there to be made. Drops and missed throws. They make 3 of the about 10 they left on the table, they win that game. |

Sure. And plays were to be made in the run game and they stopped trying.

The point is that they could have and should won the game with the plays that were there. This was 100% on the players today, particularly on offense, and not just Manuel either. |

i think we stopped the run game because we were down. regardless i think its time for a switch at qb. i really wanted manuel to be good (im a fsu fan) but i dont see him having a great future |

Manuel sucked, but Hackett did too. You can't have an identity crisis game 4 of the regular season.
If you are a run first play action team, then you impose your will and run the football.
What was the ratio? 44 passes to 22 runs? That's ridiculous. They were only down 2 scores for 10 seconds of game clock |

...ej isn't the second coming of peyton manning, but a coordinator needs to put his qb and offense in a position to succeed |

The moment they went 3 straight passes to start the game I knew they were in trouble |

not saying he is an exceptional qb but yes orton. seriously how could this offense be any worse? ej has struggled with accuracy BADLY. Many of the receivers he misses are wide open. Then there is the fact that he cant throw the ball to a guy that is covered. Have you ever seen ej make that kind of throw? i know i havent. You have to have a quarteback that can trust his receivers enough to "make them" open.
having said all that i like the way our defense has played and our running backs. Our receivers have done a good job of getting open, but like sbroads said earlier we need to involve them more like mike williams and get them down field more. many of our passing plays are 4 yard curls and screens (this is on the OC) but some of its due to the fact that ej isnt trusted enough. |

I don't think the d has been playing up to snuff...they've been lacking intensity since the Miami game...and, don't forget rivers and brown allowing foster to roll two yards for a first down while they stood there watching |

It's obvious he is.
We are a run team. For some reason he thought throwing it more and allowing the NFL's best defensive player in Watt more opportunities to make plays was a good idea |

that play was really hard to watch i will agree. Up to its full potential? No definitely not.
Kyle was out, alonso is out, bradham was out, and i didnt particularly like the corners play today. What im trying to say is with 3 turnovers and giving the offense pretty good field position with those there's no reason to lose. The defense gave up 16 points and held them to field goals many times, idk about you but i expect my offense to score more than 16, this was not on the defense
edit: the kyle and bradham notes were for that particular play you were referring to |

run or pass, everything seems like it's too obvious...the biggest thing, imo, is that he's not putting his qb and his offense in a position to succeed very often |

They are allowing under 20 points a game. Allowed 13 offensive points today. This IMO is all on Hackett and the offense |

yes i was really pissed when we lost him to the browns, while im happy for him and will cheer for them somewhat. I loved the blitzes he brought, you have to say our run defense has been pretty outstanding, probably much because of spikes |
