It's a bit unnerving knowing that Bryz never learned about the Universe until he was 30. I learned that poop at 9 years old. The Universe is big. We're insignificant. |

A healthy and motivated Simon Gagne is capable of making many NHL rosters, even one as stacked as the Bruins -- if he isn't cut by now because of physical limitations, I have a feeling he's gonna make it. - AllInForFlyers

You mean you don't like 4 hours of middle aged men in striped shirts throwing little yellow flags around???? - BiggE
It's like the NHL season after the '04-05 lockout.
Whistles every thirty seconds and all the players holding their breaths wondering what the call is and against whom. |

We should've signed him. It's not like we're overflowing with left wings. |

Yep. But it's still better than 90 minutes (plus 7-8 arbitrary extra minutes) of dudes running back and forth who have the amazing ability to instantly recover from crippling injuries. |

Pick a left wing spot. He is a better fit than one of our center converts. |

I was one of the people who laughed at you for Akeson, and I'll admit I was hasty on him, although I do believe that the bulk of the year spent in the AHL probably improved his game by the time he was called up. - jmatchett383
And that could very well have been the case; I'm just glad the kid got an opportunity. If he makes the best of it, everybody benefits.

I don't see him as a top-6 LW anymore, and with the addition of Umberger and Akeson, not sure he's a fit. |

So, are you willing to give Rinaldo sometime to correct his aim? A lot of players sucked and prone to mistakes at the age of 24. - leon neon
He's had 3 years of stagnant development. He's never been much more than a pest at any level, so no, I'm not really willing to give him more time.
As long as he's a Flyer, I will hope he proves me wrong , but I don't have much faith that he can be an effective player. I will allow that stranger things have happened, but we've heard Rinaldo talk about what he wants to be, with minimal change on ice, for 3 years now. Not gonna hold my breath |

I don't think Gagne in 2014 is better than B Schenn or Matt Read. He could perhaps be an upgrade over Umberger or Raffl, but with his injury history, is he really a guy you want to rely on? |

Question: If we can see a quasar 29 billion light years away, then that would have to mean that it existed 29 billion years ago, even though I was under the assumption that the universe was only about 5-10 billion years old. |

Guerin certainly looked used up, but I kinda wondered about Gagne -- I think his pride was wounded last year. I thought he might have a little left in the tank but from reading how his time ended in LA, you almost felt there were questions about how much he wanted to play.
I think a year off that he didn't plan to take, if you think you have something left in the tank, might have motivated him to prove he could still do it.

Gagne can help some teams, I prefer the Flyers going the younger route, both last year & now |
