The guy has a hard time turning.... and can't play effectively with his back to forecheckers...

As you said...not trending well.

i think Beaulieu will end up proving worth the pick at least. assuming he can keep his head out of his ass for a whole season.

I don't know. I don't really have a problem with Tinordi. Maybe I just have a really short memory and forget last year (I don't watch preseason hockey at all, so I don't know what he's been like).

I don't get all the McCarron hate...at worst he'll be a 4th liner. more likely a third liner...if all goes well we'll have what we've always wanted a huge winger for the 2nd line.

I think at his best he'll be a very good third liner but won't be able to graduate to 2nd line in a regular role. And I'm willing to wait for that.

I think he's the best bet to do so, as he's got the talent/skills part taken care of. Now he needs to wake the (frank) up and but it together, soon.

how do you figure that?

He didn't had much choice for Leblanc, draft was in Montreal, I don't think I need to explain further.

As for Fischer, apparently it was Gauthier who asked for a defenceman. I can't find it, but I remember reading an article on RDS where Giroux said he thought the Habs would take him, because he had a lenghty interview with them and that they really looked interested. He was even prepared to stand up when Timmins approached the podium.

Whether that's true or not, I guess we'll never know, but there are some stories like this one on every team. Drafting isn't an exact science, and sometimes you make a terrible choice, but it happens to every team. See Hugh Jessiman by the NY Rangers for instance.

Pittsburgh (sorry) vs. KC would be pretty cool.

still too early to say Tinordi, Beaulieu and Mccarron were terrible picks. though Tinordi is not trending well...

Tinordi is ways ahead of what he was when the Habs drafted him. Seemed to have taken a step back in the last year. I remember when that guy first arrived with the team, he had his head in his skates, couldn't pivot, and when he had the puck he was trying to find the quickest way to get rid of it.

Seems to have lost confidence last season, they need to help him find that back.

even if that story about 06 is true, Timmins was still the one who selected Fisher ahead of every other dman available, so it's still a blip on his resume. for the 09 pick, i don't buy this theory that Montreal left all these players on the board that they really wanted because Louis Leblanc spoke French.

Don't see Pittsburgh coming out. Not enough pitching compared to the other teams.

not even sure why, but for some sick reason i've enjoyed seeing Beane's attempt to "go all in" backfire so dramatically

well, generally, wishing bad things upon people you don't know is a sign that you're a terrible, terrible human being. think that takes care of the "why"...

How is Beaulieu a terrible pick?!

He's a 21 year old D-man. If anyone is upset he's not in the NHL making A big impact they need to give their head a shake. D-men are hard pressed to make an impact at a young age, they usually take a while to develop, and teams that rush them often regret it.

I think Beaulieu is on pace to turn into a solid NHL player. Time will tell, but Calling it a bad pick makes no sense right now.
