Both at years end........IF EJ doesn't improve.
These last 2 weeks were full of blunders by the entire team outside of the front 7 |

Qb. I honestly like what the coach has done. The defense is an actual defense and we have the right pieces on offense we just need a qb that can get them the ball. |

Does his 2 REC for 12 yards this past week against the Jets make the above stats a surefire thing?
You realize the guy "only" has 329 yards and 2 TDs through 4 games, right? and half of that was week 1 (and both the TDs). |

since many of you are bringing this up ill voice my opinion on it. If samson has nothing left to learn in juniors and truly just needs to strength on conditioning, im sure the best resources for that are with the big club.
Then theres the argument that hes going to make mistakes, what is really the fault in that if were rebuilding/tanking, plus isnt that what hockey and life are all about? learning from youre mistakes and becoming a better player.
The last argument is that were going to put him in the same situation as grigorenko. He was never put in the situation to succeed, if were put him with some decent vet goal scorers he would have been fine but instead he was put on the 4th line. So who do you put reinhart between if he stays here? hodgson and stewart or foligno or gionta? i just know we cant put him with checking role players as we did grigs |

Keith Rivers refusing to touch Foster on 3rd down and letting him roll 3 yards didn't help either. Neither did Graham misplaying the deep ball.
Lots of "rookie mistakes" |

And despite that fitz threw a bad int in the red zone then ej throws the ball on 3 and 3 and turns a for sure 3 points to 7 for Houston . The score should have been 13 to 7 |

He’s quick enough and skilled enough to make an impact. In the two pre-season games – both losses to Vancouver – Bennett dazzled with his speed, moves, and creativity and assisted on Calgary’s lone goal. He generated nine shots and was pretty much the team’s lone reliable scoring threat in the two games.
Five of the top six picks in the 2013 draft stepped right into the NHL and made solid contributions. Only Jonathan Drouin (third overall) went back to junior. Recent fourth overall picks to step into the NHL right away are Seth Jones (2013), Adam Larsson (2011) and Evander Kane (2009).

But #2 is not ready and will be going back. When did the last #2 get sent back to Juniors? What a cruddy year to tank, such a weak draft. Sabres luck. |

It should have, but even on that play, Watt goes unblocked into the passing lane.
EJ wasn't the only guy making mistakes. Yes Hackett sucks though |

Just that play really stands out.. Ej on that play did not go though any of his reads he was set to make the screen pass. Any good qb would have seen watt sitting on the screen pass all day. |

Alright, then let's say they have a plan for Reinhart (Reinhardt) and he's not succeeding. So you burn a year on a contract of an 18 year old simply to work him out in the gym and in practice? You play him on the top two lines and he's not succeeding? That makes no sense. He most certainly has the maturity to continue developing his body and his shooting while in juniors. Yes, the NHL-CHL agreement should be amended somehow to allow "elite players" (definition to be discussed later) to forgo a fourth year of juniors and be able to enter the AHL. He's simply just not physically ready and it has shown multiple times. What's the point in rushing him up here? The kid has 20 years to play. The Sabres aren't going anywhere with or without him this year. I fail to see the rush. Especially when he can continue to work on certain facets of his game and his strength and speed in Kootaney. - TheSabresTaco
"Burning" year of his contract will be irrelevant. If he's worth it, he'll be a great service to your team. If he still needs to improve greatly, like Grigorenko did, his next contract isn't going to be that expensive anyway.
Look, I'd be all for sending him back to juniors if the guy needed to work on his skills. If his skating (like Grigorenko's did), or his shot, or his passing, or his puckhandling or his overall offensive or defensive awareness, needed to improve, then you send him down to Juniors. It sounds like from both his scouting reports, and from the Sabres themselves that they don't feel that's the case. It's all about getting NHL timing down. You don't get that in Juniors. You get that in the NHL, possibly the AHL, which, again, isn't an option. |
