I have to say for as much as we all hate on Sal I have heard that he is a great leader, which would not necessarily be all that visible to us fans.

If you think about it, if leadership is what they keep him around for, weighing everything someone brings to the table, as bad as he often plays, he must be one hell of a bad-ass (frank)ing leader.

Wouldn't it be something if they waived Salvador in favor of Severson, or really anyone. I'd gain a whole new level of respect for the management.

Helgeson and Santini can lay some lumber, would be nice to have some guys who aren't massive pussies on the backend again. Been a long time. This team is soft as (frank).

Boucher has a pretty high ceiling IMO. I would love to see him and Henrique on the same line. Looking at the lines, I am guessing they might wait for Havlat to get injured and put him in his spot, which if it was last year, great but this year it just isn't a good arrangement for Boucher, let the boy feed your dog.

hopefully by next year the kids have their kinks worked out. Helgeson has been solid so far. Then when Greene moves on Santini will be more than ready. .. if all goes according to plan.

I think the big thing is he knows he isn't a hot shot and that we aren't paying him period so although someone might be paying him to not play for said team he knows if he wants to play he has to do the little things. So far he has and just because he was once a over paid player doesn't mean he can't have some success in a place where he seems to be comfortable and knows the system he could be an effective bottom six player for us.

I'm sure Sal is great in the lockerroom. But with guys like Jagr, Elias, Greene, and Zajac around do we really need someone just for their leadership qualities?
