Horvat is definitely convincing me that he belongs in the NHL, looked solid last night and has been getting better and more comfortable as the pre-season has gone on. It's why I was telling the bipolars to relax during the rookie tournament, the play in those games is too scrambly and there's way too many future ECHL'ers out there plus guys like Horvat and Shinkaruk knew they were going to the main camp anyway. - Nucker101
Horvat has played well In The preseason, but remember it's the preaeason...he has been on the ice for a lot longer than most vets...he should definitely get his 9 games ...but until he plays the 9 and after that you still think he is ready than I wouldn't put him ahead of any vet ...I think too many Canuck fans just want the youth to play so badly they forget that |

If Miller keeps coming up with pi$$-poor excuses like blaming the rain for goals against, he is going wear out his welcome quite quickly here. Not that, I welcomed him whatsoever, I hated the signing, and still do, but understand the logic of bringing a high profile GT in.
Just can't get used to the blank stare, retarded cat eyes behind the mask every time he lets a softy in. - PetrolSexual
Miller needs to keep his answers short and sweet. If he just said the puck was carrying all that well and he didn't think he had a chance to beat the Arizona player then that's the end of the story. But the guy decides to use his brain to try to figure out the physics of why it didn't travel all that well. Stuff like that will kill him with this media group.
But the fact is he had no chance of getting that puck and if he did he would have been way out of position. I think he made the right call not going out.
ps-Weber made a horrible pinch on that play and fell on the way back. No blame of course. It's preseason after all |

horvat is here he wins face offs pks well almost always comes up with the puck and is big. Why not roll 4 lines and start the season as follows and obviously make changes as needed
Sedin Sedin Burr
Shinkaruk Bonino Vrbata
Higgins Horvat Vey
Dorset Richie Kassian
Hansen
Spread out well and Im not one bit worried about Horvat being able to hack it at all he is ready |

Yeah, I'm not fully convinced yet, just saying that he keeps looking better with the more he's been playing, despite opposing teams playing better players against him as well with cuts being made. |

Based on the Canucks depth at center if be more inclined to see hunter stay ...but with injuries likely to occur I think they will both get their 9 and than those games will decide their fate |

I already have the nick manes for the lines
BUSS
RNH
Switch Vey with Hansen and we have HHH
Dorset Sestito Kassian (Don't (frank) with us line) We don't need a center.
If Calgary can do it we can do it as well.
Opening F/O every game
Sestito Dorset Kassian
Beiska Sbisa
It will be some entertaining hockey for sure. |

"Eriksson started his junior career in Valbo before he moved onto the more prestigious Brynäs IF in his hometown of Gävle in 2007. He was born and raised in the village Hedesunda, where he played his first game as a child. He was drafted in the 7th round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft at 196th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers. However the Flyers did not sign him by June 1, 2011, they lost the rights to him.
Unable to find significant playing time behind Jacob Markström after two years of juniors play and after setting league high marks for Brynäs' J20 SuperElit team, Eriksson moved west to Leksands IF of the second-tier Allsvenskan. The move paid off, as Eriksson played in 38 games in the 2009-10 season with a 2.40 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. This led Leksand to play in the Kvalserien for promotion to the Elitserien for the 2010-11 season.
On June 15, 2013, Eriksson signed a two-year professional contract with the Vancouver Canucks. Eriksson played in his first career NHL regular season game for the Canucks on January 15th 2014 against the Anaheim Ducks, coming in relief of starter Eddie Läck in a 9-1 loss."
Oh oh - it's deja vu for Eriksson

You can add Eddie to that as well as he was back up to Markstrom
"Going into the 2009 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft, he was ranked ninth among European goaltenders by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau, but went unselected.[4] After three seasons with the Leksands IF organization, Läck moved up to the Elitserien, Sweden's premiere league, signing a two-year contract with Brynäs IF on July 6, 2009.[2] He made his Elitserien debut on October 17, relieving Jacob Markström (who at the time was a Florida Panthers prospect) near the end of the first period. He stopped all 18 shots he faced in a 3–2 loss to Färjestad.[2] Läck went on to play in 14 games as a backup to Markström, registering a 2.67 GAA and .911 save percentage.[4]"

Maybe it was my low expectations coming into camp, but I've actually been pleasantly surprised by a few players so far in training camp (eg. Bonino, Vey), and the early chemistry between Vrbata and the Sedins is encouraging. I think it's quite possible that we could see early success from this group, especially if they're firmly motivated to put last year behind them. It's what happens after that adrenaline phase that concerns me, when the new coach honeymoon phase passes, the season becomes more of a grind, injuries start to mount, and you start needing things like consistent secondary offense to keep up in the standings. - khawk
For a Khawk you've got bi-polar Tuesday down pat. |

I actually like your lineup with one exception:
Sedins Burrows
Shink Bonino Vrbata
Higgins Horvat Kassian
Dorsett Richardson Hansen
Vey can get into the line up once Horvat gets his 9 games. Matthius can sub into the 4th line when needed.
This lineup is going to get us 10th in the west but it's the best this club can do. - bloatedmosquito
I agree with everything here exempt the 10th in the west. I think this is a playoff team. We have a solid defensive core and 4 solid line that have the potential to consistently contribute. If this team finds its scoring touch again I truly believe we are a threat once again. 7th or 6th in the west. |

In terms of the consensus here I think you're in the minority. Most are expecting 8th at best, and in the 8-10 range most likely.
It's not impossible to imagine but I just see other teams that are better, but of course there's always injuries. |

13th would be awesome. Sadly I'm more optimistic and expecting somewhere in the 6-9 range completely blowing any shot at a decent draft pick. |

Love 14 or 15 if can't be a competitive playoff team. My only hope is if they are that bad, they don't fire everyone again. I think they have a good leadership team and they may need a few years. |
