Almost 20 years since the top forward in the draft sent back to Juniors as per the scholars on HF and the last top forward sent back was traded to the Sabres. In 1996 JP Dumont was the 1st forward drafted but did not make the Blackhawks. I believe he was the 4th pick overall. Take care, play nice - GilPerreault11

Yeah and lest year Drouin was selected third overall and he is still in the Juniors hoping to make the Lightning this year. |

I like Reinhart's maturity. He knows he's going back and accepts that he needs to adjust to the game's speed. Makes me like him even more.

I'm just reporting a tidbit of info being shared around the net. I didn't want you guys to be out of the loop. I have no idea why you brought up the Flames. This speaks to the weakness of the draft more than anything. |

What's the day you circled?
I know you have a day circled on your calendar as the day when you get to yell out "YES!" pump your fist, run to your computer, fire up HB, come to this thread, and say "I TOLD YOU SO!" I know you are squeezing for that day to come. When is it?

I would rather he play in juniors rather than in the nhl right now. Give him his 9 games then ship him back. |

Dude, don't project how you would act onto me. I can't point out that we drafted the top forward and it's the first time since JP Dumont he's going back to juniors? I guess ignorance is bliss in Buffalo. Will this make you feel better, Bennett would probably go back too if drafted by the Sabres, but it would have been a closer call. Better everyone? Ok, I have a lecture to attend to: "Don't Leave Your Child Mono-Lingual" We'll chat later. |

Here's what happens IMO
Orton has a few good games because defense's will go in basic packages not knowing what to expect, Bills sit back and go "nailed it" and sign him to an extension and do not draft a QB. Then after 3 7-9 or 8-8 years when we are in the same boat we will be wondering what happened - sbroads24
Sadly, I agree. However, they made their bed by reaching for Manuel as badly as they did in the first place, and then tied their wagon to him. They should have been drafting a quarterback in one of rounds 1 through 4 every year at least from the time they cut Trent Edwards, probably before that. |

Here's a lesson for you all. Don't take todays apparent reality as permanent truth. Especially in sports. Things change and scenarios change over time.
8 Months ago most Sabres fans regarded Grigorenko situation as totally broken. He was a flaky, lazy Russian and the Sabres mismanaged him and fans of other teams were poking fun. Now he suddenly is knocking on being a potential stud.
Bills, another example. Half of WNY views the Orton decision is the greatest thing ever, based on almost nothing. It could be 1:23 PM this Sunday and Orton could be on his second 3 and out, and all those people could be ready to pull their hair out and cancel their #18 jersey order.
Just because they send Samson down doesn't mean its a systematic failure. People need not to be so short sighted. |

During the Tom Brady era, New England has drafted more quarterbacks then Buffalo. Let that fact sink in.
Granted they were all terrible, but it still blows my mind. |
