Only one? - PhillySportsGuy
Oh everyone has different players, but Coburn seems to be the common theme among all of them.

No. We already know this is a flawed team. It likely won't be his fault when things go south.
If your expectations are anything more than making the playoffs, I suggest you lower them. - PhillySportsGuy

If/when Streit doesn't play to the level of 07/08 Timonen, he'll get ripped apart. |

One play out of 21 shifts does not a good or bad game make, any more than the rare goal he scored. He had a real solid game last night and has been decent overall in the preseason. - bmeltzer

A twisted part of me hopes he gets injured (not seriously) just so the fans get a sense of what life will be like without him. |

I don't see how you can make as assumption like that. Looks at the facts in context. NHL GMs obviously like him, or else he wouldn't have gotten that offer. Did Homer give him that extension just to have a horrible player on the team? |

They are going nuts about Ghost on Philly.com. I made mention of Terry Murray's comment about him needing to learn to play without the puck......and this guy said T Murray was a has been, and used Coatsey as a reason why he was right and I was wrong.

And I'm not sure which plays you are basing your claim that LSchenn has had a medicore preseason on. He's got one game with a pretty full lineup so far this preseason (last night) and I didn't see him make a mistake all night. Unlike Grossmann, who gets to play with Streit, not MDZ.
I'm guessing he struggled a lot in the game in NJ that wasn't on TV, but that's to be expected when you run MDZ-LSchenn out as your #1 pair against a full Devils team. - Feanor
I am practice every day in Voorhees. He hasn't looked very good. He struggled on the split-squad trip (second game). He struggled in Newark. When asked specifically about both MDZ and Del Zotto, Berube measured words carefully and talked more about what he'd like to see that what they are doing.
Yes, last night, Schenn was fine.

Here's the bigger and more controversial question. If the Flyers have a mediocre season and either miss the playoffs or get blown out in the first round, would you trade G straight up for the #1 pick? - TheGreat28
No takers on this one?
Here is my thinking. The Flyers D looks to be really good in a few years. The question is...will happen while G is still in his prime? We all know defenseman take longer to mature than forwards, so maybe with some cap space and good drafting they can supplement the current forwards with some young talent.
But maybe having McDavid as your centerpiece would align better with the timing of the defense corps. |
