Because whoever decided to fire them all and replace them with men had a pretty nice lawsuit staring them down. It was a total bonehead move not to just have the girls cover up with team gear to begin with.

Or just leave well enough alone and let them dress the way they were. Olympic ice skaters wear similar costumes, and there is no problem there. I have no problem with feminists arguing for equal rights. But equal rights shouldn't penalize pretty girls from marketing their appearance and sexuality if they choose to.
