My thought for the day
Everything is better when wrapped in bacon

There are two types of people in the world:
1)Those who like bacon
2)Those who are wrong.

Jsaq made a good point to me about a week ago that Lecavalier would have to adjust if he were to take on Hartnell's role on the PP. I disagreed but he was sorta right.
I think Voracek and Lecavalier need to adjust to each other. I think they should design a play with Voracek being a rover, that opens up place for Lecavalier's one timer on the PP. Voracek is very good on that right side. He can go from the right point to the right side of the crease and draw attention. I'm hoping to see the one time get used. Not forced to but used. Very effective shot by Vinny. |

Because whoever decided to fire them all and replace them with men had a pretty nice lawsuit staring them down. It was a total bonehead move not to just have the girls cover up with team gear to begin with. - hereticpride
Yeah I never understood that. It makes me think that the org had a problem with the ice girls on a personal level or legal problems. I've heard enough stories to make me think that a sexual harassment suit was just waiting to happen. |

I think they overreacted to the San Jose nonsense and rather than simply make it a co-Ed team of people dressed in normal attire, then went right to all male no T&A |

That was pretty cool of you to stick up for stortini, Bill. Have to admit at the time I didn't think much of micheletti comments but it's kinda funny now considering how u pointed out micheletti has fewer games in the nhl than Stortini. |

“When Flyers fans voice their concerns, we listen, because they are undeniably the most passionate and knowledgeable fans in all of sports,” Flyers COO of Business Operations Shawn Tilger on the return of the ice girls
If they axed them because of complaints, than this is just hypocrisy. Not to mention he's calling fans "knowledgeable" for booing the ice cleaners because they're not half naked girls. Maybe the organization does employee chimps.

If I thought the org was more clever than I do, I'd think that they'd make it all men so the complainants (mostly women I'm assuming) would feel like they just put women out of jobs, if you get what I'm saying. |

It seems like some fans were more critical of the Flyers' organization for getting rid of the ice girls than they were for not winning a Stanley Cup since 1975. That's some strong Kool-Aid. - NickTheKid87
Look winning the cup is very hard but there's no reason we can't be rewarded with the amazing ability by those ladies to shovel ice while on skates... C'mon look at the outrageous parking and concessions! They can at least give us ice girls! |

You could twist it by saying that he's not saying that they're "knowledgeable", just "more knowledgeable" than other hockey fans. In that case, the average IQ of a hockey fan must be around 75.
Edit: That may be true. |

I've come to enjoy Tripp Tracy and John Forslund in Carolina. And John does a great job post season working the playoffs. Not to mention that Tripp is a former Flyers goaltending prospect. |

As long as they're paying Bryz, there should be no ice girls. |

I mentioned over on the Rags' blog that I've found the most knowledgeable fans per capita to be Columbus, Nashville, and Carolina. Now, that may be because only "real" hockey fans go to the games, so you don't get the amateurs that round out other bigger market games.
But yes, in general, I'll take Flyers fans over most other US fan bases. |

You're holding them up to underwear model standards. These girls have gotten where they are through hard work and dedication, not skill or anorexia |

I agree with your assessment on fandoms around the league. Small market teams are comprised of people that really love hockey more so than the diluted fan bases of the big market teams. That core of diehard, knowledgeable fans exists here too. Finding it over all the screams of "SHOOOOOOT" and boos directed at the ice crew can be difficult at times. |
