The top playoff teams year after year are mainly built around franchise centermen. There are a few exceptions like Boston and STL.

My point is that having a really good center isn't an immediate formula for succes either. It's a team sport and you need high levels of talent at all positions. Not just one.

I like where we are now. Adding 3 first round picks and two seconds (most of which should be high) to the best prospect pool in the league can only be really really good.

I dont. I would much rather have tanked that year and gotten mackinnen. He immediately entered into the NHL and is looking like a stud. We are lacking a dynamic talent at forward. we would likely still be drafting high with or with out him.

Yes.

Center depth IMO is just as important as having a franchise center.

In the playoffs, good teams always have an ability to shut down star players. Whether is was Toews 2 years ago, or even Nash for the Rangers this year.

Having that 2nd and 3rd line centers clicking and producing can be a key during the playoffs
