I agree with Randy. If Morin was AHL eligible, he would be down. The flyers would rather him get a few extra practices (maybe games) with the big club before sending him back to junior. They did it with Laughton last year. - aflyerpower8
read it the opposite. I am the one saying he would be down in the AHL.

Simmonds out with an LBI? Anyone know what this is about? - BiggE
No one seems to have noticed anything happen in Tuesday's game. |

Even Timonen was'nt top pair material last season. He really took a step back. He had his moments but he was battling hard to keep up. Still he is better than Del Zotto purely in hockey sense and defensive positioning. I believe Streit is more than capable of filling the hole Timonen left on the PP. For me... the defense really hinges on whether or not Coburn turns in a solid year, MacDonald isn't what the NYI fanbase thinks he is, Schenn is the Schenn from the 2nd half of last season and Del Zotto pulls it together. Lots of what "ifs" but whats new?? - GOA88
Ghostisbehere and Alt are viable call ups. That's new. Apparently they like Brand Manning, no idea why. |

If they put him in the AHL, they'd be losing a year of his ELC. If he's not in the NHL, and both were options, I'd rather him go back to the Q, dominate (hopefully), and save a year on his ELC. |

I think Streit-Coburn or Grossmann-Coburn would be a better combo than Amac-Coburn. They just looked awful together and we already know Amac isn't built to handle top pairing duty. |

That's what I would try.
I would consider
Grossmann-Coburn
Streit-Amac
MDZ-Schenn
The top 4 of that group has had success with those combos in the past. |

I really dont like MDZ-Schenn. Its potentially a train wreck considering they're both 24 year old, battling with consistancy D-men. ORRRRRR!! They have the potential to be the next star top pair the Flyers crave. Its a gamble. |

Same thing happened with Bellemare in the SS game in London; an LBI that no one knew about till he didn't play in the next game. He missed six days. |

IDK, they arent really that bad. If this defense had any one of the following... Pronger, Doughty, Weber, Keith etc.... It would be a very solid defense IMO. This defense has plenty of depth but lacks that #1 guy who can eat 30 min a game alone. |

Correct. And playing in the AHL as a 19 year old doesn't take a year off an ELC. You have to play 10 or more NHL games. |

I'm well aware of that. That's why I said even if both (AHL and juniors)were options, I'd want him back in juniors. |
