I'm well aware of that. That's why I said even if it were an option. - jmatchett383
Same question, what point are you making?
I said to Miller that the only reason he was still with the team is because they couldn't send him to the AHL, and he is still here because they want to get as much time with him as possible before sending him back. And that if he WAS AHL eligible he would have gone down with Ghost and the rest.(Im paraphrasing)
Miller disagreed.

Big hockey splurge this season... Leafs/Flyers CB seats.
Painful even with the discount but I know I made at least 4 people really happy. |

That's exactly the point that I'm making. That even if it were an option, I'd still send him back to juniors, even if it didn't burn an ELC year. |

Oh ok, I though they were referring to the Morin situation.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I would. I think he would be better served playing in the AHL, I really don't care about burning a year. If he is ready for a certain level he should be at that level.

Millers point was that if they planned on sending him back to juniors they would have done it already since the season started three weeks ago.
I disagreed.

I really don't care about burning a year. - MBFlyerfan
As Feanor was saying, if there was such a thing as exceptional status, Morin playing for LHV (and up to 9-games as a Flyer) as a 19-yo wouldn't burn a year.
If a player aged 18 or 19 signs an entry-level contract with a club (with his age calculated on Sept. 15 of the year he signed the contract) but does not play in at least 10 NHL games — regular season or playoffs — the contract will "slide" or be extended one year. The extension does not apply if the player turns 20 between Sept. 16 and Dec. 31 in the year he signed the contract.
He'd be treated the same as Hagg |

He is probably ready for the AHL, but I'd rather him go down into juniors where he's already pretty dominant defensively, and be able to work on his offensive game. That way, when he does come up into the AHL, he's more refined and well-rounded and doesn't have to work on his offense playing against equal/better players.
Edit: Basically, the argument some are making about Couturier's offensive game. |

Yeah, I feel good about the price for the experience (some of these people have never been to a pro game before) but looking at the total is painful. Two Leaf fans in the party though... |

I thought most Leafs tix ran around $100 or so. So for club boxes, not bad. It's probably on par with Flyers prices.
I did something similar. I ate a $600 bill so my buddy could go to all 3 SCF games in 2010. |

It's a home Flyers game. I wouldn't even attempt to get Leafs tix in Toronto unless I knew someone. Face value on the club box seats was north of $200 each. |

I paid $2400 for the three cup games in the corner where Kane shot the cup winner. Still haven't seen it go in but just looking at him disgusts me to this day. |

I did the same in the Montreal series. Now I've seen 5 Cup Finals games and I went from 0-2 to 2-3 so I don't feel good but slightly better. |
