Honestly, I kinda agree with MJL on this one. You seem to really trying to find a way to bash Carter here. Last year in the playoffs he meant as much to the Kings as anyone.
I wouldn't redo those trades, if only because they handed the team to G and got back some great players. But Carter has turned into an All-Star forward. Seems he got a Gold medal in Sochi and not Giroux. Not saying he's better than G. Just saying the hockey world thinks more highly of him than you do. - TheGreat28
I like Jeff Carter. I don't love him but I like him. I think the Flyers could use a Jeff Carter now, then ever, even over a player like Mike Richards. However I do believe Carter is an overrated sniper in this league. He'll always have way more goals then he does assists with his stats. He's along time removed from a 40 goal season, when a league where they still exsist. He has a decent two way game though. |

And, hopefully, a better idea of what he needs to work on and what will be expected of him in the future.
Win/win.

Actually, he is exactly the kind of player that they need right now on the 1st line. Not that I'm saying bring him back or don't do the trade. But I'd love for the team to get a pure goal-scoring sniper to pair with G, preferably a true winger. |

This is exactly why I wanted Bobby Ryan all this time. |

Thought it was confirmed that Hagg was sliding like Hampus and Girgensons? - Tomahawk
I believe this to be the case, yes. He's a teenager playing in the AHL. His contract will slide as though he's in juniors.
As long as he doesn't get recalled to the Flyers this season and play 10 or more games. |

Never understood why high volume shooters like OV and Carter get knocked... like it's easy putting 3+ shots on net per game or something. |

Depends on what Luke Schenn we see. This team's issue isn't offense or the PP. It's defense. - MJL
Is Luke Schenn (the guy they traded for) not a huge portion of this issue? Schenn is part of the reason our defense is a problem. |

They will still need to paper recall two of Hagg, Straka & Ghost to maximize cap space. |

Not at 7 million though. I would have picked him up next offseason if he would have taken a 5.5 mil contract with a nice home team discount. |

He does shoot too often. He even shoots wide as the rumours suggest to pick corners. Good player but playing with Jeff Carter for most players has to be playing with that jerk in an NHL14 drop-in who has no intention to ever pass. |

I dont hate them or anything. I think Quick was the monumental reason they won those cups. Carter and Richards not even being part of the top 5 best players on the team.
1.Quick
2.Doughty
3.Kopitar
4.Williams (Playoffs - Mr. Clutch)
5.Gaborik (Playoffs) - GOA88
You can think what you want, but it was obvious that Carter was a dominant player last year in the playoffs for them. All of those players were absolutely vital, but so was Carter and Richards. |

I disagree. If you pair Schenn with Timonen or MacDonald, he's fine. If you place him with Meszaros or Gustafsson, he struggles. The reason why he struggles seems obvious to me. |

He was with the Flyers as well. Never said he wasnt. He just simply is not anywhere close to being the top player on LA or as important as at the very least 3-4 players ahead of him. Period - GOA88

It's never a complaint of Steve Stamkos. It's a heavily-biased and undeserved criticism. |
