I don't think he's a better option for most teams that will likely make the playoffs. And if we are out of it by the TDL his numbers are not going to look pretty. Supply may be there, I just don't see a high demand in that scenario - bezz44
Agreed. Most playoff teams have a solid goalie. |

Bonino impressed the hell out of me tonight, guy is a better two-way player than I thought. Very smart in all 3 zones despite his lack of speed/size. Nice shot and passing ability as well. |

He'll be really picky, Kesler-like. Especially if you ask him in year 2 and he still has a year after on his deal. Year 3 would be best. - EagleNuck
By year three he will be the Marty Brodeur of last year... Might be able to get a 4th round pick |

Solid road win , even if pre-season - VANTEL
Agreed. They had more regulars dressed for the home crowd. |

probably causes he's thinking what suitcase to use to pack
he's good, I just feel like another year will do him a lot. He's got Virt to compete with next year. |

If we are out of the playoffs , Miller would be ok to be traded to a playoff team. - VANTEL
I would have liked to have seen Garrison here involved in up tempo style hockey. He would have been great on the Revamped PP aswell. |

Then we better not be trading Lack then. |

Burrows best game of the preseason - A_SteamingLombardi
wasn't really hard for him to outshine his other games though |

Draisaitl with the magic trick, was invisible tonight. Bonino is a smart player, love how well he steals the puck. Lack looked fantastic. |

He's not much of a skater, I didn't like his contract's term. Decent 2nd pairing guy, but he wasn't great puck mover or a true shutdown guy. Also way too much money tied up in the back-end, Tanev is gonna need an extension soon.
The return was "meh", basically traded him for Vey but I didn't mind the move. |

Still not a good sign he is not scoring. |

It's for the best. The A will be a step up in competition and he'll slowly improve his game toward a more pro level.
We don't have anyone on the farm at the moment that's demanding a full time roster spot with their play. That said, some will still be given a chance because we're not exactly spoilt for choice. - AlexF
I've got no problem with Shink spending time in Utica. He played like a dozen games last year and most of those while injured. All things considered, I'm surprised that he's played as well as he has. Totally invisible tonight though. |

Horvat and Shink were drafted the same year were they not? Why is Shink able to go to the AHL and Horvat isnt? |

Something to do with where their birthdays fall. |

I enjoyed the game tonight ,but some things they need to figure out.
Who is on the second line?
How does this team score or do we play for one goal wins?
What are we missing to be make it to the top again?
I like Burrows but he had 5 goals last year and should not be on a second line. He should have to re-earn that spot.
Is Kassian a 2 nd 3 Rd or 4 th liner?
Hansen Higgins and Mathias , do they own a spot , or do they make us mediocre.
Where is our team speed? |

- tough call on the second line.
- without the 2nd line, the sedins are going to be focussed on. So....that brings us back to the issue of only one sedin bouncing back
- burrows I think should start on the 3rd. show he can make game changing plays again and get in peoples heads.
- Kass should be on the 2nd line, give him a chance. let him be the knew burrows getting in peoples faces and scoring goals. let the crazy loose.
- Mathias doesn't look like it. Horvat would be better in there. Higgins would be a good guy to play horvat with I think.
Is tanev going to take his next steps this year? that would be good to see him step up his game. |
