Horvats hurt now. Not gunna make a huge impact from the press box. - vancity787
Didn't look too serious. He can still get 9 games before a decision will be made even if he misses regular season time. Hopefully it's not a serious shoulder injury. |

- tough call on the second line.
- without the 2nd line, the sedins are going to be focussed on. So....that brings us back to the issue of only one sedin bouncing back
- burrows I think should start on the 3rd. show he can make game changing plays again and get in peoples heads.
- Kass should be on the 2nd line, give him a chance. let him be the knew burrows getting in peoples faces and scoring goals. let the crazy loose.
- Mathias doesn't look like it. Horvat would be better in there. Higgins would be a good guy to play horvat with I think.
Is tanev going to take his next steps this year? that would be good to see him step up his game. - numbear
I agree with this. I think the Canucks need to make a trade for a 2 nd LW |

I enjoyed the game tonight ,but some things they need to figure out.
Who is on the second line?
How does this team score or do we play for one goal wins?
What are we missing to be make it to the top again?
I like Burrows but he had 5 goals last year and should not be on a second line. He should have to re-earn that spot.
Is Kassian a 2 nd 3 Rd or 4 th liner?
Hansen Higgins and Mathias , do they own a spot , or do they make us mediocre.
Where is our team speed? - VANTEL
I thought Burrows had a decent game. Nothing spectacular but then again it's pre-season.
I like Hansen and Higgins, but have to say Mathias had a great game tonight, so the jury's still out.
Team speed is always initiated through the 'first pass'. I liked what I saw from Edler and Tanev, and I think we should be ok in getting attack mode and transition accordingly.
As far as scoring, it's tough to gage when you have your two best players not in the line-up. I think we're going to be fine, though. Vey, Bonino have looked great and the veterans seem to also have a more positive and upbeat attitude, which can only help in both the short and long term.
One thing I'm still pissed off about (and yes, don't me started or else we shall be here until end-times) is the Miller signing. I know it's early, but I haven't been impressed. Hopefully he'll get on a roll and that we'll also see some great stats from Lack |

I understand the loyalty to players like Burrows , but , he did score 5 goals last year and none so far this year. I don't know how you can put that in top 6. I would go bottom 6 and let him earn the minutes like everyone .
Burr and HANSEN are the same player now so who do you move the younger faster cheaper one or the aging guy. Sorry Burr
We need guys to bury the puck |

I was only half watching. If it's on the GF doesn't ask stupid questions, what am I saying all of her questions are stupid. |

That is true . There are a lot of positives I see this year, but unfortunately it doesn't involve Burr or Hansen |

last year in his contract. they have a crap load of LW. He wants more money, but will want to be near his ranch.
Would love to keep him in calgary of course, but his position is the one that they can move people into. A scoring 2nd (sometimes 1st) LW, that wouldn't be out of place on a 3rd line. Sure they can use him. But if they could get a RW for him, or a RD its a whole they need to fill that they don't have much in the prospect pool to fill with (all LW and C).
Kassian is a burke type player. Hansen is another one that I could see interest in.
Cgy makes trades with Edmonton, so it is possible. |

You wouldn't get Kassian for a one year guy but Hansen would be a good fit. Him and Rymond would be a fast line |

watching the flames tonight. they have speed to burn already. they made the jets look slow out there. impressive young guy game. 2g for monahan, 3 assists for JG, and an assist for bennet.
But a RH shot would add well to that.
If kassian was available for GlenX and a bubble player could happen to.
Hudler also is starting to not fit. but that would be nuts to send him to the canucks. He'd fit in way to well with the sedins. Soft line, but they would cycle that puck until everyone fell over. |

Flames have some good guys and I think some of my friends here might be surprised this year. Glenx is a very decent player but like you said one year left so I doubt Kassian wouldn't be in the mix : |
