Sad days for you bud no Kassian or Corrado. - belcherbd
Crappy.
I guess Westgarth will just have to make shinkaruk his female dog. |

I didn't think Westgarth was good enough to even be in the NHL but that speaks to the quality of your team I suppose. |

Kassian playing tonight?
He will be sucking supper through a straw after tonite if he is. Gazdic and Westgarth will wipe that dumb smirk off his yapper for good. I'd bet a bucket of all dark meat that your team is befuddled all night.
Is Corrado playing? Maybe he can learn watching nurse and Klefbom. - ghostofRC
The Oilers had an entire season to get Kassian and nothing. Get over it. Gagner isn't even on your team any more. |

So no Sedins tonight, does that include Vrbata?
We know
Burrows Bonino Vey
and
Sestito Horvat Dorsett
Leaving Matthias, Higgins, Hansen, Jensen, Shinkaruk. Does this mean we see Cal O'Reilly tonight?
Otherwise if Vrbata is in we will see someone play C out of position. - belcherbd
I believe Matthias is between Higgins and Hansen |

This. It's pathetic at this point. Like a Canuck fan still hoping someone jumps Keith to avenge Daniel....not gonna happen.
Get over it. |

Many on here never questioned Lack's ability as a starter, it was always about who his backup was going to be. Before the Miller signing, I was hoping they were going to pick up an experienced/veteran backup.
If Miller doesn't lose it, he'll be okay. I am not sure if that is a vote of confidence, but more so agree with the opinion of Lack having a near ideal disposition for this environment. - hillbillydeluxe
you should question his ability as a starter, its to soon.
I still question schneiders ability, its his first season taking on the role without an all-star back up.
Lack can be a starter....but he's a goalie, they take time. |

Brodeur was far from an all-star these last couple of years, Schneider's ready. At this point if you're questioning him you'll likely be the last of a very few people to finally admit that he's a top 10 goalie by the end of this year. Being cautious is fine, but being overly cautious is almost as bad as relying too much on inexperience/youth as it results in mediocrity since you'll overvalue vets and undervalue young talent. |

Hopefully we get to see O'Rielly between Shink and Jensen then, possibly Utica's top line? |

Doubt it. Regular defense is playing plus Lack is in net. |

This.
How many goalies broke out to prove themselves once finally given a chance?
Do we consider Bishop a starter? How about Elliot or Khudobin?
If Lack didn't have to start 30 (or whatever the actual number was) games in a row I bet his numbers would look better. |

Did you read Garner's blog? I probably have it wrong, but I'm pretty sure he said something like "Draisaitl finished with no points and -2 but was awesome"! |

Steal of the draft imo.
From the time I seen him play at 16 I knew the kid would be a star. I hope he follows through. At the draft I said if we could move up to get anyone it would be him. He should have went 1st overall. |

Here's the exact quote:
"Draisaitl didn’t register a point and finished with a -2 in the plus-minus column, but still managed to be the best Oiler during Wednesday night’s 3-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes."

You think he's significantly better than Reinhart and Eklbad? Only way he'd qualify as a "steal" would be if he's better than those 2 by a decent margin. |

I don't know how much stock I put into +/- in one game, or even a few. Especially during pre-season. For all we know he created a lot of offensive chances but either he or his linemates couldn't finish them.
But then again, fans/writers tend to give way more credit to young players than vets during pre-season, if Mark Arcobello had a similar game I doubt Henderson would be as giddy about him. |

Yeah, maybe, I didn't watch, but I think there were probably better players in the game, who actually generated offence instead of just chances.
But, looking at this whole +/- thing, I'm probably the best player on my team, last game I was -4 |
