From the time I seen him play at 16 I knew the kid would be a star. I hope he follows through. At the draft I said if we could move up to get anyone it would be him. He should have went 1st overall.

It will be hard to tell, Edm always rushes their guys into the lineup and there is no insulation for him in that lineup. If they had a vet like Horcoff still there, Leon wouldn't be asked to lineup against Getzlaf, Stoll, Thornton etc. I think he will get eaten alive.

Boyd Gordon is their center that handles the tough matchups. I'd imagine RNH would also get the tougher assignments, on the road it could get difficult when the other coach has last change on faceoffs.

Can't be the steal of the draft since the best player went at #4.

I'm not talking about how Edm will deploy Draisaitl but how other teams deploy against him. I like him as well but he likely isn't ready for 2C min on a weak team.

I would bet that Mackinnon would not of produced like he did if he had been drafted by Edm and thrust into that role. Nothing against the player but he is going to be asked to do too much.

Yeah, maybe, I didn't watch, but I think there were probably better players in the game, who actually generated offence instead of just chances.

If Horvat can play well here, he makes the team, gets a chance to develop without exposing him to difficult minutes and allows him to work his way up the lineup.
