They suck as a unit. I'll reserve the right to say Del Zotto sucks after ten games. - mayorofangrytown
I disagree. They are a decent defense as a unit. Not a Cup caliber defense, but decent overall. But they aren't a defense unit that is going to be able to overcome not having a solid team structure and forward support in front of them. |

Saying that the Flyers defense straight up sucks is suspect in that the team made the playoffs last year. I would argue that you gotta have a certain level of serviceable defense in order to make the playoffs, right?
On the other hand, the Flyers defensive corps leaves a heck of a lot to be desired. |

My point is. this is the 2nd time they're sending Morin back. even if they demoted him to the AHL it wouldn't change what I'm saying except there'd be an option of him getting a call up.
Voynov spent a yr in the A. Morin spent a year in the Q. Voynov made the big club the next season. Morin got demoted the second season. - mayorofangrytown

All true points....that's why most fans think they should try and upgrade....not that they haven't tried.
However, Some would argue that Morin and Ghost are good enough now to play in top 6.... For now we can only speculate. |

And then what do they do after they send Morin back after the 9 games? Play Schultz? - MJL
I would guess Alt, but that would just be a guess. |

Rinaldo has actually been looking pretty solid now that he has a few line mates with him that can actually do something. It would be nice for the flyers to have a threat with our fourth line play. They have looked very good this preseason.
Akeson's goal last night was a beauty. |

So, Morin's back to junior and Blair Jones won a job. Did I miss anything else?

I think the Flyers are aware that they need to upgrade it also to get to a cup caliber team. |

If they felt that Alt was ready for a top 6 spot, why sign Del Zotto? |

Different skill set. Doesn't really matter now since Morin is back in junior. |

“I thought Sam played really well,” said Flyers head coach Craig Berube. “As close to cracking the line-up as you can I think, but for his development and the player that we think he’s going to become and that he thinks he’s going to become… going back to juniors is the best thing for him.”
“We had a lot of conversations about him throughout training camp… he opened some eyes,” said Hextall. “In the end we felt it was the right thing to do and we’re extremely excited about Sam. The kid had a great attitude, I probably sat with him for about a half hour.” |

We sent Rosehill to a farm in the countryside... he'll have more space to run and other Rosehills to play with there.

HA! Yeah -- hey, you've watched a long time, like most of us have. The game's changing, or has changed.
I don't think it's a bad thing. I've enjoyed a few fights over the years; I won't deny that. And during that era, fighting was between (mostly) willing combatants.
But ultimately, the NHL's lucky no one's fallen during a fight, cracked their skull and died. Sometimes, you gotta move on.

I remember when the Flyers drafted Morin, and all the complaining. Should've taken someone else. Now there is excitement for the player.
