Benning has suggested that Jensen and Horvat may be ready . he stated that at the beginning of summer and has stuck with it. - VANTEL
Yes - Willie is continuing to "pump their tires" in the media too. |

Richardson, Matthias, Higgins, Hansen or Burrows.
I could see Jensen being sent down, not Horvat (at least that's what I hope). |

I was suggesting they keep both. We have little chance of making playoffs . Make Jensen Horvat and? your third line , let them grow. |

Richardson should not be moved before Matthias.
I think he's a lock for the #4 centre spot. He's too valuable to the team.
How many games is Horvat out for? Anything confirmed?

X-Rays were negative on his shoulder, which is great news, so he should be out only a week. |

Matthias is a UFA at the end of the year, I could see JB moving him. Unless he has a really good year? |

I find it strange that we are so attached to this team that we can't even make up our minds on who should go. We are talking about 3 Rd and 4 th liners and a second liner who scored 5 goals. |

Yeah Richardson is a good 4th line centre, I just hate him playing 3rd line. Matthias can play both lines.

I wonder where Kassian fits into the mix. |

I don't know if it's attachment or simply the number of bottom 6 players on the roster, and in particular, the fact that there doesn't seem to be clear leaders through training camp. |

We need a blockbuster trade for a top six winger in the worst way!!! |

Pretty much a little of everything you suggested. |

It would require top prospects. Too many NTC / NMC
The best type of deal you would get out of this core and their contracts is a type of deal that CBJ /PHIL did this year Umberger for Hartnell |

Burrows is the only one that'd be really difficult to move, Higgins & Hansen have trade value IMO. |

They may have trade value but not much . What would be a realistic return for either? |

You would hope so, but are they valuable enough for a top 6 winger that this team so desperately needs. |

Well in terms of the blockbuster I was suggesting, you'd have to pool one of them with say Lack, Shinkaruk and a 1st round pick. |

That IMO is our problem . They are not top 6 players on a good team , they are top 6 players on a bad team. |

I would think twice about moving Lack. I give Miller another two weeks before he explodes.
I would move Horvat before I move Shinkaruk. I think Bo has move value right now and I still only look at him as a very good third line centre . |

Andrew Ladd is a consistent 20+ goal guy with two years left on his deal? |

I have thought he would be a nice fit and obtainable. he can play second line LW and when Danny struggles move him to the top line.
Markstrom Hansen plus would be the deal |

I agree about Lack and Shinkaruk, it's too early to move them, package both Hansen and Higgins with Gaunce and or Eriksson.
So far I am willing to give Benning a bit of time to assess the best fit the team requires. But this team has a good 1st line (if the return to past form) and a good 4th line, combine pieces of the present 2nd and 3rd lines and we have a good 3rd line. So back to that top 6 forward needed for a 2nd line??? |
