To the dismay of my fellow posters this would be my game plan this year.
Hamhuis (age 31) would be traded at TDL to contender for a first rounder.
Bieksa at TDL would be traded to Leafs for Gardiner and prospect.
This one will bug a lot of fans here . Horvat and Markstrom for Ladd. Bonino will be our second line centre and We Have McCann in the mix for next year or the following.
After the season I would trade both Sedins and reunite them with AV for Nash and a first . If Nash has a very strong year NYR won't be interested. If Nash and Danny have similar years then I could see a trade happen. Sorry Lefty
Next years top pairing would be Edler and Tanev , then it gets thin very quick. |

I have thought he would be a nice fit and obtainable. he can play second line LW and when Danny struggles move him to the top line.
Markstrom Hansen plus would be the deal - VANTEL
If Jensen, who's a LW'er or RW'er I believe, proves he can stick with the big club I'd move Kassian + for Ladd. |

Nash is garbage no thanks to him and I don't think he'd waive his NTC to come to Vancouver? If his NTC is still valid?
Trading the twins is still a non-starter, can't trade them if the don't want to be traded. |

If Danny has another bad year and fans start booing the it may no longer be a non topic.
Danny needs to score at least 20 before the crowds get angry |

Still pretty difficult to move a NMC unless the player wants out, which I don't see as a realistic scenario? Guess we'll have to wait and see how he plays this year. |

If I don't see at least one of the young guns in the line up to start the season I am going to be pi4sed. |

Nash is crap...lazy lumbering primadona...not a fan even when on team Canada.
Hamhuis will net a better return than a 25-30 pick. We had those picks, and still waiting on results.
As long as Gardiner is being mentored by Phuckface Phaneuf he will never become a top 4D |

Two have already been sent down so your chances of being pissed off are pretty good considering they've got two more cuts to make.
PS: I think Horvat sticks... |

I think Horvat stays. Jensen's future could hinge on tonight but that's it. |

Honestly, I like your out of the box thinking to make the canucks more competitive. But I also think they will both have vastly improved years, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict 0.70-0.80 points per game by years end

Trading your best two players because you want to go in a different direction is silly, especially when your return is a 39 point player with a $7.8 million dollar cap hit for four more years.
I could call it a few other things but I've got much respect for Vantel so I won't do that…unless he persists? |

bieksa is the one id definitely not move. as he ages he can take on a grittier role. He's one of those players that can slide into that old guy role (Mitchell was that too). And provide some protection to the younger players.
He hates losing, has a great attitude. Probably the only old body Id keep on the team once the young guys step into place.
Sedins to NY isn't that bad of an idea. Playing with St louis is a scary thought. |

being able to move 2 players that could possibly be on the decline (they have this year to prove last year was the anomaly, and they aren't doing the same as nash). To get a slightly younger same pt producing like player and a 1st is a pretty fair move for the future.

As much as I like Bieksa, he is very overrated and I think he would garner the best return of any of our Vets. Hamhuis is underrated and would never fetch back enough value and the Sedin's are not going anywhere, nobody will take them both, they don't want to go and they deserve to finish in Van. If this team is selling off Vets at the end of the year I expect it will be role players or possibly burrows moving but none of the higher tier players. |

hamhuis is definitely underrated.
its the leadership and dirty areas that bieksa adds to the team. I'm not thinking points.
if you're dumping all your role players and rebuilding, enjoy the route edmonton is taking |

Sorry man Nash and a first would be terrible for the future, if you are taking on an albatross of a contract you better be getting some good young pieces.
For example Semin, Lindholm and a pick for Sedins or Weiss, Franzen, Tatar and Quellette. There is no point in moving them just to move them and a 1st from a contender isn't enough. |
