McCormick is an improvement over Scott. Who fills his role?

So, Sabres start the year with Nuevirth in goal 1st 10 games...keep Reinhart for 9 games, play Weber and Strachan as 1st pairing, send McCabe Grigorenko down. ... Get a firm grasp on McEichel from the get go....set the tone early on. Dig a big hole..then spend the balance of the year gradually bringing up the rightl players for the balance of the season...and deal a couple of players at the deadline.

i think this is how it goes with a 2nd and 3rd A going to Moulson and Stafford. Hodgson would be a real shock for me

I'm not happy with 2 new people being given letters like that. It's bad enough that over the past 10-ish years the Sabres haven't grown any of their own Captains (Drury/Briere, Rivet, etc), so I'm not excited to give the C to another guy who didn't come up through the farm, but Gionta seems pretty clear cut to get it IMO.

Deslaurier (sp?), Mitchell, Grigorenko, Carrier and I wouldn't doubt Samuels-Thomas sees some time later this year either.

Those 5 names alone replace the likes of: Leino, Ellis, Scott, D'Agostini

I see Stafford being the "primary" A, as in the most automatic to get one.

Myers or Hodgson are front runners in my mind. I'd prefer a d-man, just to have a representative from that portion of the roster.

Gionta = C, That is why they signed him
Girgensons = A, youthful leader...serves as the bridge from this team to when Gionta and the other A are no longer here, a proven, dedicated leader.
Not sure on the other A...Moulson, Gorges, Ennis, Stafford.
Gorges maybe for the D representation. 2 or 3 years in the future I suspect it will be McCabe
