Pretty neat stuff.... and hilarious to see Boudreau blushing while making an awkward, patronizing doof of himself:
She's 5'11 172... same build as Giroux. - Tomahawk
I think he ate a raspberry at Willy Wonka's factory he wasn't supposed to. |

All joking aside, I still say Emery is the toughest and most feared guy on the team even when we had an enforcer in the lineup. |

It's probably because he has that crazy smile on his face when he's in a tilt... that and he's teed off on guys like Andrew Peters, Josh Gratton and McGratton before. |

Hextall would only say there's a chance he'll play... and a chance he won't. No one else in the organization is allowed to discuss injuries and even OTR stuff has been a little scarce in camp.
Hexy is insistent that there only be two voices on all team matters in terms of who can be available to be quoted: himself or Berube. Assistant coaches, scouts, etc. are no longer allowed to agree to interviews without prior approval from the GM.
Hexy says that this was Lombardi's policy in LA, and it worked in Ron's opinion. - bmeltzer

Don't really see what's so bad about what he said.
Edit: I think it's awesome that women are playing hockey. I wanted my daughter to play. But let's be honest here, I dont want to watch it. Mens hockey is so much better to watch. I'd watch my daughter play, but other than that I'm not interested in women's hockey. I'm pretty sure a good boys high school team could beat the US Women's team |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Flyers Head for Cape Cod, Prospect Updates, Quick Hits - bmeltzer
A lot to be excited about with our prospects, just so long as we keep our expectations reasonable and within reach. After seeing Morin play with the rest of our kids and most of our current roster, I think it's more so fair to compare Morin to Derian Hatcher, who was still a very good player, just not Chris Pronger. I will admit I look forward to his cocky personality. I know I overrate these types of attitudes but I'm gonna miss Hartnell and I do miss guys like Jeremy Roenick and Chris Pronger.
Very excited to see Travis Sanheim and Samuel Morin play for the World Juniors. |

Schenn-G-Jake (I was a proponent of splitting up the Jake and G tandem, but putting Schenn on their line has worked out pretty well thus far. Hopefully that keeps rolling)
Simmer-Coots-Read
Umberger-Vinny-Raffl
Akeson-PEB-Rinaldo
I'm really ok with that. The bottom 6 is pretty good, imo, and I think we're gonna see ice time spread out.
The defense though on the other hand....yeesh.
I guess I'd go
Coburn-Grossmann
AMac-Streit
Schenn-MDZ
And then wish upon a star |

Hextall said they are cap compliant by abut $55K under the cap after putting Pronger on LTIR and carrying 22 players into the season by sending Rosehill to AHL. Said they will have between about $2 to $2.5M after other LTIR moves made.
Brings me back to something Dave Poulin said last year: while Capgeek is always in the right ballpark, there are often small inaccuracies in the publicly available figures. - bmeltzer
I will be glad in 2017 when we no longer have to worry about Pronger's large and annoying $4,941,429 cap hit. |

IMO, that would be a great deal for the Flyers. The only problem is that the Hawks are looking to possibly deal him for Salary cap relief. Grossman doesn't help in that regard. |

I was skeptical of Akeson on the fourth line, but that combo has impressed me, particularly their ability to keep the play in the offensive zone. I love the idea of a fourth line with the speed and grit to keep possession of the puck.

Right. Didn't really think of it that way.
It's gonna be cap hell for them if they want to keep most of that core around for the next 5+ years |

I don't expect what the fourth line has done in preseason to last. I think Akeson will almost be forced to be moved up in the line up to play with more offensively gifted players. |

If the Flyers stop paying their blue line the gross national product of a 3rd world country, it should be easier to keep some of the forwards. Hopefully the promising youngsters develop.
Individually, our defense may not be way overpaid. As a group they definately are. I also feel that Grossmann, with his past lower body injuries, is going to fall off a cliff talentwise this year or next year. I hope they get one more year out of him. |

Laughton for leddy. That stiff can't even supplant Rinaldo on the 4th line. His career is over before it started |

Word is they're looking for a prospect, since there's just no room for Leddy. I expect he'll be somewhere else by the start of the season.
