I'm loving how everyone is underrating this team. Yeah, we have made very small, minor moves. Big whoop. The biggest additions to this team is the maturity of players like Giroux, Simmonds, Voracek, Couturier, and Schenn. If they progress even more than last year--look out.

I disagree.

The Isles got a lot better but they still don't have close to the depth up front that we do.

Plus the D men we have coming up in our system will likely assert us right back over them anyway should they look better than us this year.

I don't think his contract is that bad tbh. Looking at current rosters a team like Carolina could really use him. Someone will have the need for him should we look to move him in the next few years.

It would be the Isles luck to put together a half decent team in the MacDavid draft though.

Looking at this year only I like the Isle's D better, but we undoubtably have stronger D prospects coming up. In 2-3 years when we're looking at something like this it wont even be a worthy comparison.
