Completely missing the point. It's not about an opinion. It's simply about recognizing the possibility that they could get better. And being open to that possibility. And that there are plenty of reason to beleive that it is possible that they could improve in areas such as 5 on 5 play. And that the only truly way to know, is for them to actually play some games. Or you can go with your statement that they have not improved at 5 on 5 play, before they have played one single game.

You've written positive things in passing. But day after day, it's been pessimism, and that is the tone for the season befoe it even begins from many on here. And that's on you. And it is sad.

I've never stated that my opinion is more valid, or that yours are less valid. Only that there are possibilities of it going both ways. And that the only way to know is for them to actually play a game.

Yes, so how is it you can take the same circumstances and state they will be better having not played a single game. Funny you have one standard for yourself and another for those who disagree with you.

Also, FWIW, I've never said they will be worse this season than last. I've repeatedly said that I feel they made lateral moves and that teams that were behind them in the standings improved, which is why a playoff spot is no guarantee. Saying they could be POTENTIALLY worse is not the same as saying they will DEFINITELY be worse.

Oh poop yeah, I'm wrong all the time. I thought Lecavalier would be a solid addition. Now I'd like to go back in a DeLorean and kill that deal. I thought Bryz would be a good addition, and we saw how that ended up. Hell, I hope I am completely wrong, that MacDonald plays like Timonen and MDZ returns to the form he showed a couple years ago when he was playing 22 minutes a night and scored 40 points.

I hope Vinny and Umberger have a great year together. I hope Rinaldo becomes a Laperriere clone and is a valuable guy. Because all those things would mean the team I root for has a far better shot at winning. I'm not exactly happy that I don't think the Flyers are a contending team. I get no joy in saying critical things about them. I'm just relaying my honest opinion.
