I think Gorges was an Alt . if they all had letters on better teams it does make some sense that they have them on this team until we grow one.

I personally don't see an issue with giving a letter to someone you brought in. If the guy has good character and has been a captain or can show some form of leadership then give him a letter. All this home grown nonsense is just that, nonsense. None of our young guys have had the experience that Brian gionta has had. I get that we want to grow a leader but you can't if you don't surround him with the right guys with the right character. End rant.

Some of these guys have had enough pressure on them in the first place. Myers is just starting to get back to the player we saw his rookie year, why heap extra pressure on him by giving him a letter right now?

Think about it, Gionta has a 3 year contract. He'll be out of here just in time for the youngins to take the reins. It's not a coincidence that things worked out this way.

I'm going to assume that when you said Grigs, you meant Girgs. Easy mistake to make.

It would be pretty difficult to give Grigs a letter here in Buffalo, seeing as how he's in Rochester at the moment.

Neither was Moulson at 24-25 years old.
