-Kimmo gone
-Downgrade from Hartnell to Umberger
-Vinny a year older/more badder
-Add Amac and Del Zotto, subtract Gustaffsson

There defense got worse, they traded for a lesser player, amac is terrible, and the rest of the flyers fans will realize this eventually. Del zotto at this point is a ?. The gustaffson loss is irrelevant, guy played like 12 games last year..

But to the positives, the team started 1-7 last year and made the playoffs still, and the new coach has is first training camp. Giroux probably won't take 15 games to score his first goal. Schenn will out produce hartnell on that top line, couturier is now 21 due to breakout if given more offensive responsibility.


It seems to me as a homer the team could won the division, it looks like from a guy hating on the flyers and their fans, they aren't a playoff team.

To me? I have no clue. I could see them from winning the division, to landing macdavid. So somewhere in the middle is the most likely outcome.

The Islanders scare the living daylights out of me. Halak is the perfect goalie for this bunch and their recent additions to their defense helped to solidify them as an offensive powerhouse. The Islanders still have issues in their own end but when it comes to scoring goals they could be in the top five NHL teams

Well said. A lot of teams exceed or fail to meet expectations. Crap shoot in our division for a lot of teams. On paper id say no but who knows?

If Mason plays well and their offence performs they can definitely make up for the D problems. Have to wait and see what happens.

Yeah, we'll see how Halak works out but whatever he is I feel he will be a vast improvement on what we had. Our goaltending was unwatchable last season. We were middle of the pack last year in shots allowed and had the worst sv% and gaa in the league. Granted, a lot of those shots were of the high quality variety IMO but I think our defense will improve with just growth alone from Hamonic and Dehaan, hopefully minimal injuries, and our recent additions. We shall see...
