Ok so let me get this straight. You put montreal 5th in the Atlantic behind the leafs and red wings and somehow the BJs and Flyers end up 1 and 2 in the metro?
is pot legal in whatever state you live in? or are you on some other drugs? this makes ZERO sense.
your rationale has no rational arguments. if anything someone could make a case for the Islanders to pop up into the top 3. The BJs top center missed all of camp and will need to find his legs getting out of the gate. the Flyers defence is porous. the Islanders addressed the big issues. Goaltending and defence. They got two top 4 dmen on the SAME f*ing day!! lols.
they can play those two guys 30 minutes a night, and by default they should move up in the standings compared to the guys that they had before. both have won stanley cups and gone deep in the playoffs. they know what it takes to win. if anyone is moving up it is the Islanders. They'll be fighting for a top 2 spot in the division.

Leddy is better than Amac
Boychuck is better than anything you have defensively besides maybe Coburn.
Grabovski would be your 2nd line center. So would Nielsen. So would Nelson. Maybe even Strome.
If healthy our defense blows yours away currently.
Amac is poop. - Danformo
Is this real life? Who compares Leddy to Amac? You're proclaiming your defense to blow the Flyers away when 1/3 of it has never dressed for a regular season game for the Isles.
And the reality is that Schenn would be the 2nd line centre if not for the nice depth with Couturier and Vinny up the middle. Grabovski absolutely would never centre the 2nd line - just an ignorant statement
Seriously the bashing of the Flyers on here is ludicrous. Someone went as far as saying "pretty clear to be 2nd to last in the Metro". Despite their shortcomings on D (which I agree are there), I dont see a reason as to why Mason won't continue his play (considering hes been consistent since joining the Flyers) or the offense wont carry some of the load.
And those laughing at Ek's comment about the first month. In the case where the team fires a coach 3 games in and has to learn an entirely new system, the comment is extremely valid. This isn't as if they had some bad stretch in the middle of the season. Had they fired Lavi like they should have at the end of 2012-2013 its extremely plausible that the Flyers horrid start wouldn't have been. There is no denying that after the Lavi firing and Berube's minicamp the Flyers were a top team in the East last season.
They will be a playoff bubble team anywhere from 5-11 in the East |

Boychuk is the equivalent of Robyn Regehr. A decent 2nd paring shut down player - sbroads24
The Isles didn't need a 2nd pairing great offensive defenseman. They have Leddy de Haan Hickey and Pulock once his conditioning stint is over. a Bruiser 2nd pairing (who I think is a #3) is just what we needed. And Boychuck has some offensive skill as well |

I, as well as all other logical and realistic flyers fan apologize for him. I'm not going to argue b schenn vs grabovski.. seeing as schenn is replacing hartnell on the top line. Which is an Upgrade. Couturier is centering the 2nd line, not vinny which is an upgrade. And yes couturier is better than grabovski.
That said, the flyers d is dreadful. Amac is terrible. And will NOT last on the top pairing very long. Either way, with the natural growth of the fwds the flyers are not TOO much worse than last season. However if mason falls back to Columbus mason, they'll be in a lot of trouble.. - tweaver3312
I agree. Only thing is currently (based off last year's play) Grabo is better at offense than Couts, but now Couts is another year older and should round out to what Grabo is but better defensively. (~50 pt player) |

Grabner is more of a ~30-35 points player. He had one good year his 2nd season in the NHL and has gotten worse and worse every year since. |

And Grabner isn't really bad. He's a great bottom 6 forward. Good defensively and usually chips in 20 goals. Last year would have been his only season with us he didn't score 20 goals. |
