Dubinsky now possibly out long term as well for CBJ.
No Horton. No Jenner. No Dubinsky. And RJ going into the season completely cold.
They are going to be rough to watch out of the gate. - hereticpride
Could end up saving the Flyers from missing the playoffs. |

Marko Dano and Alex Wennberg are pretty skilled stop-gaps... at least they have that going for them. |

I'm envisioning Raffl-Bellemare-Akeson eventually becoming the de facto L3 as Chief pulls the plug on VL again at ES. RJ's not going to get many A's on a 4th-line w/ VL and Zac, is what I was thinking. |

Bill Meltzer: Flyers Gameday: 10/8/14 @ BOS - bmeltzer
I hope the Flyers are correct in their assessment that conditioning was the main culprit for their early season struggles last season.
They made some personnel changes/decisions based on this hypothesis. |

Not sure about the poor start, but it definitely looked to be the reason against the Rangers in the post season. They looked exhausted most of the time. |

Or they are just not very good and were carried by the powerplay and Mason to even being competitive in that series. The Flyers were the worst team in the regular season at 5 on 5 goal differential to get in the playoffs and were the worst team in the playoffs at 5 on 5 goal differential, so they were pretty consistent.
Regardless, we all will know right away what they are. 9 of the first 10 games are against teams who made the playoffs last year and 18 out of 23 thru the end of November. So if they aren't a good team, they could be out of the playoffs by Christmas. |

My turn for predictions.
1. St. Louis Blues beat the Tampa Bay Lightning in the cup finals.
2. Stamkos wins his first Hart trophy.
3. Karlsson wins the Norris.
4. Not to be all Tampa here, but Bishop wins Vezna.
5. The Minnesota Wild upset a contender in the playoffs. I'm thinking the Kings or the Blackhawks.
6. Boston takes a big step back due to their lack of scoring punch.
7. Dallas turns into a powerhouse.
8. Voracek tgets 70 plus points this season.
9. Lecavalier scores 31 goals and is a machine on the PP.
10. Mason finishes as a finalist for the Vezna.
11. Either Grossmann or Del Zotto will eventually become a healthy scratch in favor of Gostisbehere.
12. Flyers make the playoffs and win at least one playoff round. There's just nobody in the division that I don't think they can beat right now. Columbus maybe, but they still have a lot to prove.
Ok, now go ahead and rip me a new one now. Go Flyers! |

Keep in mind, most of these points are coming on the PP, lol.
(but I do believe Read/Coots will do better w/ a competent linemate at ES) |

Personally, I think that's just a biased view of your favorite team. Everyone is exhausted in the playoffs. |

Just because I am convinced Mason will win the Vezina, the Conn Smythe and the Hart Trophy this year does not mean in any way that I am biased |

I agree Tampa's an incredible team on paper... if Bishop can sustain that lofty SV%. Regression is a female dog, though. |

In all seriousness, I get what you're saying. Their play just looked really lethargic but that was probably more of a product of their poor 5v5 play |
