I'm just going to leave this here:
The New York Post's Larry Brooks has....(wait for it).....predicted that the Rangers will win it all this year.

Apparently Simon is still pretty miffed at Homer. - MBFlyerfan
Yep. I'm very tired of hearing about it. Flyers went in a different direction. Raffl came in and showed he was a NHL player. If they had kept Gagne he might not have had the chance |

Finally the season is here. Hopefully the off season emphasis on conditioning pays off hugely. Flyers have as tough a schedule as there is coming out of the gate and if they are in better shape than their opponents, it could be a very positive factor.
Getting off to a good start will help build confidence and hopefully get them rolling towards the winter months. - Jsaquella

I forgot that they signed Kevin Hayes. It will be interesting to see if this kid is as good as he thinks he is. - 3flyerkids
I saw a bit of him in preseason, he did not look very impressive.

How often does the Stanley Cup runner up make it back to the Finals the next year?
For one reason or another, those teams never seem to make it back. - johndewar
Yeah making it that far and losing takes both a physical and emotional toll on a team. Physically, playing 4 hard rounds of playoff hockey takes a lot out of guys and mentally, trying to gear yourself up in October to start again when you came oh so close, well, that can't be easy.

Per a caller on WIP yesterday, Simmonds isn't a real goal scorer. Coots will never hit 30 goals, and Read isn't that good, "after he had a horrible year last year".
Oh and there's a good chance Vinny will outscore Giroux this year.
I'm not making this up by the way.... - hockeylover

I don't blame him. If something came up, Holmgren should have explained what and why they couldn't sign him. Leaving him in the dark is disrespectful. |

The Bruins are dressing a goon? Is Holmgren shipping Rosehill to Boston via FedEx freight? - PLindbergh31
Don't worry, Emery is putting on the foil.

Losing Boychuk hurts them as well. They got a fairly solid return for him, but that doesn't help them now. |

Without Krejci they're really weak up the middle. Soderberg had a good year last year and Spooner has offensive potential but Krejci makes a huge difference. |

Having guys like McQuaid and Miller to plug in makes that trade go down easier. Hamilton's probably ready to take on some of Boychuk's 'heavier' minutes as well. |

Chara, Seidenberg, McQuaid, Krug, Hamilton, Miller and Bartkowski. I don't think they'll miss Boychuk all that much. Plus, like you said, it'll free up minutes for Hamilton. |

Predicting a 4-1 Flyers Win tonight.
Goals by Giroux, Simmonds(PP), Streit(PP) and Vinny
Rinaldo draws a PP
4th line plays a solid game
Forwards look fast and backcheck hard creating the team tough identity.
Just my thoughts.
Lets go Flyers |

Bill Meltzer: Flyers Gameday: 10/8/14 @ BOS - bmeltzer
This might be a bit of a jinx but Boston looks beatable. They're missing some weapons. They've gave some weapons away. I think tonight is a 50/50 win. The devils tomorrow also looks winable. I do not like the Devils defense. Next to Brodeur in his prime, Cory Schneider looks average. In fact I didn't like when I saw him in preseason. I suspect we'll see both Mason and Emery early, which makes me so happy.
I thought Emery looked really good in his final preseason game. |
