How hilarious would it be if a Mase injury led them to sign Marty Brodeur. - Tomahawk
I'd rather have Bryz.
Edit: Or Zepp. |

I don't think Coburn would get you Kane. I would like to keep Coburn, if they can somehow acquire a top pairing stud, Coburn would be a solid # 2 guy. - PLindbergh31
I have to say, if they wanna trade me Evander Kane for Coburn and a 2nd, I'd do it.
Like, in a literal heartbeat. |

I agree. I believe someone suggested trading a package of Coburn and maybe B Schenn to Winnipeg for Kane or a draft pick and then Ghost would replace Coburn.
I'm not sure that makes any sense, at least right now. Ghost could play 22 minutes a night in the future, but not right now (most likely). |

I'm already encouraged by the Flyers start to the season compared to last year.
Losing by one goal to arguably the best team in the East is not ideal, but hard to complain about that kind of effort.
Last year the Flyers looked dismal in their first several games. If G's line can clean up the flubbed passes, defensemen correct their blatant positional mistakes (Coburn on first PK) and Mason keeps up this level of play, the out look is brighter than I initially expected. - mcefalu
It's one game. Hard to come to any conclusions based on last night, good or bad really. Like others have said, if things break right they could make the playoffs, even win a round. If things go south they could be picking in the top #10. I think this team will be like a box of chocolates all year. You never know what you will get. |

I'd only do that if it's blatantly obvious that one of Ghost or Hagg can come in and absorb a large chunk of those minutes. Plus guys like Del Zotto and L Schenn would have to be having good seasons at the time.
I'm also not convinced the Jets would be that interested in Coburn. |

Yes. I agree. Can't pass up a talent like Kane. But man that D core would prob be a a real trainwreck without Coburn. I would guess Morin would get the call. |

From how I read it, it'd be (frank) the Flyers, they can still pay Pronger and carry the cap hit until 2017. - Jsaquella
most ridiculous rule. The guys career, as well as Savard from Boston, ended because of a concussion. its not like it was a case of a guy with bad knees signing a 6-7 yr deal knowing he would play maybe 2-3. This is the kind of stupid that really frustrates me |

Im with him though... If they asked for Coburn and a 2nd for Kane its a no brainer |

Mason's clearly a Ringo guy they'll have to overcome that. |

Except Ringo is awesome too. I love them all, equally.
If it wasn't for Ringo, I wouldn't be a drummer. In the beginning of Help! when they're playing on that white stage thing, Ringo pulls a simple little one handed snare roll. I was like 3 or 4 and loved it for some reason. I always tried to do it like Ringo with one hand on pots and pans. Been playing drums ever since. |

Morin can't come up this season till his Junior season is over, unless it's an emergency situation for a couple of games. |

A defense core of MacDonald, Grossmann, Schenn, Del Zotto, and Streit isn't an emergency? |

I didn't even think of the Gump reference. I was trying to figure out a way to say they will lack consistency. |

Are you then moving a forward for a D man? Cause if not, it is throwing the season. I'm actually cool with it if my expectations are adjusted but we would need to throw big like Mc-Big-vid or Ech-Big-il. |

Yes but he holds no allegiance to John. If Mason struggles, I blame Yoko. |

Agreed -- he's a shooter. He doesn't have the size to play down low consistently
