i know but i cant lie, a part of me was looking for some sort of vague rule violation
- Crimsoninja

If Tim Peel was reffing they could have argued and got it overturned.

Because yes, Tim Peel decided to overrule himself on a too much man penalty after Sedin argued with him.

Papa Snider will whisper one word in Bettman's ear and make it all go away. Comcast.

Can Pronger take on another job elsewhere? Like could he have some sort of Front Office job with the Phantoms? Or some Comcast Spectacore job with an insane paycheck?

Something tells me Snider will find a way to one up this if proceeds any further.

I thought it was a boring game and that they need a lot of work. Mason was solid. But he gave up the Biron over the shoulder boulder holder in the dying minutes. What can you do?

at least it wasn't the white knuckler or around the hump.

i thought the flyers would lose 3-0; 4-1 something like that. it just sucks a garbage goal won the game with under 2 minutes to go. another regulation loss in the 3rd.

I only saw the third but they looked well below the Bruins in execution to me. Could have been 5-1 if nt for Masons great play. I guess the first two periods were better because the consensus seems they competed. I hope it is only early season or the Bruins without their number one center are that good. Looking forward to tonight. Go Flyers!

I despise the makeup of this D corps. A pair is out there and I say to myself, i can't wait for them to get off the ice. And then the next pair comes out. I know it's early and hope they get it together, but yikes. They can't drive the puck up the ice with speed and they can't really defend in the zone very well. Great mix
- wilsonecho91

Can't defend in the zone very well? The game was tied 1-1 with 2 minutes to go in the 3rd. The Flyers defense played well last night for the most part.

I liked what I saw from Bellemare. Fourth line looks pretty decent this year.

And that 2-on-1 with Schenn and Voracek was sad. Schenn's shot made me laugh.....and cry

From how I read it, it'd be (frank) the Flyers, they can still pay Pronger and carry the cap hit until 2017.
- Jsaquella

I didn't take it like (frank) the Flyers. But I think you're right on the rest of it. I think his point was more that Pronger can be unbiased because he would be collecting the money from the Flyers regardless of whether he took the job or not. So he can disassociate himself with the team.

I think it is an indication that they would not force him to retire and screw the Flyers in the process. It's the only possible outcome that would work for all parties in my mind.
The PA will be fine with it because Pronger still collects his pay, so no precedents there. The teams will accept it because it doesn't change the Flyers cap situation. They'd never accept an exemption that allowed Pronger to come off the cap. And the Flyers will accept it because it doesn't really change their situation a all.

I saw some good things and bad things last night. The most encouraging thing was Mason looked very sharp. Other than a few plays....I thought the defense looked fairly good. Coburn IMO was the worst of the bunch. Amac was solid. Schenn was good other than a couple turnovers. Overall the things that were lacking last night seemed mostly to do with rust and chemistry which will all come in time. So right now they have already started this season better than last. We MUST beat NJ tonight and get something positive going though.
