with the score and time of the game, you need him to make a save here. but if you think that's an automatic stop just because it's short side, i'll tell you flat out you're wrong. that was a great shot right over the pad, and under the blocker. it's a tough area to make a save period, let alone point blank, labeled, bullet on a 2 on 1 where there's a threat to the far side.

With the sometimes poor quality of pinches by MDZ/Streit, I can see L. Schenn being on the ice for a lot of goals.

Schenns gotta do more there. He did nothing. He has to steer that forward outside or take his shooting lane away with his stick at the least.

Giroux Streit on the PP is going to be a big pain in the ass for PK units. Streit is a huge upgrade there.

I keep reading about the defense being so bad on this team. Nothing wrong with Grossmann's game or any other defenseman's game tonight, or so far this season. The defenseman have not been the issue. The issue has been a lack of offense. Finally the Flyers forwards played with some emotion, found another gear, got the puck to the net and some bodies to the net. And Wayne Simmonds got them back in the game. Anyone looking at the defenseman as the issue to this point is simply full of it.
