brayden coburn brutal in the preseason and during the regular season yet still people think he's our savior

His absence will make the heart grow fonder because he's better than people give him credit for.

Oh, I hate the whole "amateurism" sham.

College Football and college basketball stopped being about amateurism a long time ago.

I know. Realistically, there shouldn't be collegiate sports. People should either go to college or pursue a sport professionally. Pretty sure the US is the only place where kids go to college to play sports and make the schools billions of dollars.

When I was in college, if someone wanted to hire me before I got my degree, I would have left in a cocaine heartbeat.

Why can't athletes have that same freedom? Why should the school capitalize on their likeness? It's awful.

Exactly. I remember a player on Clemson a few years ago had a little sister and his mom died. He was the only living family member and had to get clearance from college football in order to accept government aid in order to take care of his little sister while he was in college. It took college football way too long to make the decision. His sister was literally living with him at the dorms.

You are going to run into people your entire life who are on 3rd base and think they hit a triple. It's maddening, but it's real.

For me? I can't wait to hire you as my crooked attorney....

That poop is just heartbreaking to me. And yet, they fill that stadium in Clemson every Saturday they play there.

He is, but you know what. The MacDonald/Schultz pairing wasn't an issue. Not saying in anyway that we don't need Coburn back. But Schultz played well, and MacDonald played a very strong game.

The Flyers finally got some offense going, and then the team defense breaks down.

Nick Schultz looked fine to me. I like AMac, so I'm not that guy that wants to kill him.

I'm looking at the Schenn brothers after tonight and after seeing their body of work for a couple of years.

Colleges and Universities are just so full of poop. They take in billions of dollars and pay no taxes and no one really knows where a lot of it ends up.

It's apparent that the Flyers need a number one defenseman but I still have to stick to my guns, Claude Giroux needs a legit winger to play with. Someone seriously dynamics!

A lot of that money funds other sports. I get that.

But why should the kid that brings in 100,000 people every Saturday eat ramen noodles so the kid that plays soccer (a sport no one pays to see for all intents and purposes) can have a program to play in?

If that happened in the "real world"....

I was more replying in general, then directly to you.

Luke Schenn was on the ice for 5 goals against. Trying to watch the highlights to see exactly what the breakdown was. But so far only the first 3 Devils goals are available. And on those 3 goals, I don't have a problem with how Schenn played in

On the Ryder goal, Schenn played his man well and sealed him off the boards. Del Zotto had pinched, and Lecavalier was back in the center lock. Lecavalier back checked his man all the way to the net. Raffl had his man on the backcheck. Umberger and Del Zotto coming back covered open ice, and neither picked up the trailer on the play. And Ryder was wide open to shoot from the top of the circle. Lecavalier did screen Mason, and has to move out of the way. But he made a strong effort on the back check. Luke Schenn play there was fine.

On the 2nd Devils goal scored by Henrique, Lecavalier fanned on a bouncing puck which became a turnover. Del Zotto's coverage was loose, Schenn was in god position around the net, as there wasn't another Devil there, and it was just bad luck that the shot deflected off his skate and in the net. Not going to blame him there.

On the 3rd Cammalari goal, he had decent coverage. You could argue that he could've been tighter, but I don't think it was poor coverage there.

Have to wait and see the replay of the other two goals that he was on for, to see exactly what happened.

It's not even just about that. It's about tuition rates as well. I'm a little bent because my wife and I are paying loans. I just don't understand where all of this (frank)ing money goes. So they can create a satellite campus in (frank)ing Bosnia?

I know. I know you watch and wanted to see what you thought.

I hear you and I know others defend the Schenn boys, but I want to see them affect the game in a positive way rather than say "they didn't screw up".

Hypothetical question:

If I'm the QB for a school like Auburn, how many coloring book pages do I have to do to graduate?

It's awful. I agree.

A friend of mine's daughter was explaining what her student loan payment was in a given month. It was like a luxury car payment.
