great game? That game smelled like december 6th on a tuesday. No emotion, no atmosphere (again) and it was the OPENER! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Much of that game was poorly played by both teams. It was pretty boring for long stretches. Columbus finally seemed to figure out that they were supposed to be playing a game though in the 3rd period.

Anyone else remember that Girgensons had the lone goal in the opener last year too?

Honestly, that was pretty much the only forward line I thought looked good tonight.

Well, the video to get the crowd pumped up at the beginning froze about halfway through. So we had a good 5 mins to sit there and wait for the team to come out to be announced.

It was a boring game, AKA good road game by Columbus. IDK, I thought Columbus was all over us most of the night.

The Ennis/Moulson combo was good early and the 4th line seemed to work well. The Reinhart line was a bit of a snoozer though.

It was Busch league. Way to skip broadcasting the preseason and not get anything right in the regular season. MSG still sucks in Buffalo.

The Ennis/Moulson line got a few chances, but overall I thought the best line was Foligno/Girgs/Stewart. They had a lot of chances and made life difficult for CBJ each time they were on the ice. The rest of the lines didn't do that. They had the most complete effort, IMO.

No but he stood out to me. Made that stupid pass to Gionta on the 2 on 1 when he had a great look at a shot, lost the puck a few times and had another play where he iced it for no reason

The one thing I noticed for sure about Reinhart, is his skating. For some reason a lot of people around here got it in their head that his skating was a problem before we even drafted him. I have to say, I don't think it's an issue at all.

I wasn't watching that closely tonight so I can't speak up for him. My "knock" on that line is in no way a judge of the kid, I just noticed more jump from the other 3 lines in the first and second.

Reinhart did have a nice pass in the 3rd I believe to Gionta that gave a glimpse of things to come.

I'm concerned, other teams tanked harder for Mcdavid than we did tonight.

Yeah, when I was up there in February and was able to catch a game (first one in a LONG time), I found myself watching away from the puck a helluva lot.

Well, based just on the box score to the Col/Min game, Col played pretty horribly.

Lost 5-0, outshot 48-16

Colorado lost 5-0 and got out shot 48-16
